  1. I couldn’t have put it better myself Your right it does have JF on the back, that’s how I got to hear that tune too! Don’t recall it been sped up? food for thought though!
  2. Top end shrine stuff? Prophets, counts,jd Bryant? del larks, the one on king(can’t remember the guys name)? I think it’s a small list containing 10k plus items
  3. There’s been a few occasions where pitching works! In the 80’s I had only ever heard the Detroit prophets-suspicion,for me it was the ultimate new northern soul discovery, but then it turned out to be the Motown male group the originals but sped up to sound like a girl group! I didn’t and still don’t really like the original “originals” version! So I was dissapointed twice on that occasion
  4. Don’t know what the final amount will be but I know it’s coming home with me Yeah I seem to recall jms a few years back, was it approx 12k?
  5. Now this is what I like to see,an auction site auctioning a worthy piece! tim brown has mello souls on,starting bids 10 big ones
  6. Yeah certainly 1500 quid for the groovettes, closer to a grand for Eddie!
  7. I didn’t know it was a reissue,so absolutely correct the French copy is much better then
  8. Thanks for input guys! I think it’s great when we can trace the life of a 45,very well documented! And in this case a true rarity!
  9. Very nice Marc, what a great 45 to own! The sound file on YouTube is an over compressed mp3,so doesn’t quite deliver the power of the song! I imagine its a powerful piece of northern played out loud? Do you know when and where it may have been a regular play?
  10. I’ve never seen one in the flesh or know anyone whom has it! how many copies knocking about?
  11. Hi mate, hate to be a bore, but the spyder turner is on a USA 45 too. nice on a French ep,at a fraction of the cost of the USA copy!
  12. I never went to the casino (before my time) but surely to god any of the shrine output wasn’t discovered or played there? And if it did, want chance would it have had against class tunes as joe 90?
  13. You mean expensive at the time,or have become valuable with time?
  14. I use his site a lot, personally I don’t think he owns the records, simply because of the sound files used, and the label images, for example he has the prophets-one gold piece-shrine on the site, but the image is from the internet, and more importantly the sound file is the 80’s mix off the Horace lp and not the 45,i could point out many more examples, however good on him for providing a cool channel with many interesting sounds on there!
  15. I wonder if buying the masters came with a sweetener? Maybe a full set of mint shrine 45s with intact labels great to see some new exposure to the label
  16. Jimmy Radcliffe-you can’t lose something you never had-advision acetate So does anyone know why this is on a uk acetate? What uk label was it planned for? also is this the first true original version,or is it bruce scott on mgm or maybe Donna Loren?
  17. I only look on that site occasionally for a laugh! The listings clog eBay too, nothing ever sells! So yes why do they bother! Must be a business tactic to show high value stock
  18. I agree the Kim tone 45 is a terrible tune/song,but did it not go for 115 quid? Not 2k?
  19. Good lad,love it
  20. Sounds like a hostage and ransom situation to me,cheeky bastards are gonna be pushing a ransom note through the door for a substantial amount of money or the records die! scumbags!!!
  21. I think no matter what version of the original in todays market your not gonna acquire the record for less than 5k in any playable condition! I got a copy for a mate some 5 years ago in ok condition and that was 3.5k! The true first press is up there with the big boys and easily 8k
  22. Which jimmy robins tune is this?
