  1. What a lovely thing to have andy, and absolute full credit where its due for all your efforts on the shrine label!
  2. Yeah cracking allnighter, dont recall missing any from the onset, okeh promotions with the membership card! i seem to recall dave evison doing a live hour set on signal radio too! He mentioned me and my mate thumbing a ride to keele from macclesfield cos we couldnt get a lift
  3. No i think anywhere between 500 and 600 quid is right for that record!
  4. I wasnt into rave/dance music that much, but cos i was a young lad early 90’s i went to shelleys in stoke a couple of times! If memory serves it was a bit of a dump! In fact i may have seen “altern8” there? Cant be sure though!
  5. Yeah mine had that little bubble flaw, and mine didnt skip or sound at all! I think i swap mine in the end, cant remember what for,but certainly a couple of grands worth of a swap!
  6. Well i never! Not only am surpized at the identity of group but also tee fletcher isnt the vocal on the combinations 45! Learnt two things today! Well done mate!
  7. Chantlers 45…very nice,never see this!
  8. Tee fletcher is the lead vocal in the combinations,so is he lead vocal with the mvps? I thought they were a white rock group?
  9. The multicoloured version is vinyl,i suspect the red label version is styrene, and maybe a dull sounding styrene! But i do know what you mean!
  10. I have to say that its not very often i see a record on rarenorthernsoul.com at a reasonable price! they have listed this piece of mega rare magic at 3k and its mint too! ive had the multicloured version in the past which is bloody rare, but the red copy is up there with the rarest and such a quality tune! And in todays crazy market 3k looks very reasonable indeed!
  11. Yeah tony, the guy was perusing for a copy for his mate, looking to chuck 2.5k for one!
  12. That piece of history is more compelling than the record itself, thanks for sharing!
  13. Starting bid was 500 quid for the harper bros 45,does that mean someone paid that for it? ive had that 45 a few times, pretty poor record really,i doubt you could ever interest a floor with it! So im surprised someone would pay that for it,maybe a 100 quid record at best!
  14. I always find it amazing when quality songs only appear on 45 in dare i say obscure countrys! I mean WHY?
  15. Yes its impossible dream too! anyway nice piece to own, well done mate!
  16. But it looks 1970’s ? This looks more 60’s
  17. Yeah the best version by far! So is the only way to own it on a 45? and is this orange rca some kind of reissue? The colour and type set doesnt look like 1960’s?
  18. I dont think northern soul can be compared with property and art, property will always be in demand in an over populated world and thus increase in price, art for the most part are one offs and are hundreds of years old and will always appeal to the masses, whereas northern soul 45s will be worthless in say 20 years tops! I really cant see people falling over themselves for these records for much longer! And actually if you study the user names on ebay..jm’s..etc its the usual suspects buying them! Oooh i feel like ive just poked myself in the eye! i think if you can afford it,and you want it simply for the enjoyment of owning it,then bloody well have it! But as a long term investment, sorry but thats daft!
  19. The four voices i suppose on the grand scheme of things isnt surprising! But the carol anderson is a horrendous amount of money for that! Really does beggars belief!
  20. Whilst im a fan of the shrine output, and had many of the TOP ones! Whoever paid 3.2k for the enjoyables is a loon! It wasnt even a nice copy! How many times have we seen this at 700 quid and not moved! By far bottom of the shrine list along with jimmy armstrong linda and vistas and leroy taylor…oh and that pile of crap from the cavaliers! and to make it worse for the buyer, darren brown sold and ex copy today for 2k!
  21. Jesus mate your showing your cards a bit early thats a big offer for that! Im sure you will nail one for half that despite the appearence of over inflated auction prices! I will keep my eyes and ears open too!
  22. Also i agree that soulettes and four voices are equally as rare as each other, and both are top quality tunes, but the four voices is a much bigger seller and has much more dance floor appeal! Soulettes id image being in the 1500 quid mark and four voices in 2.5/3k mark!
  23. Its the same (exactly) as steve mancha-did my baby call? I wonder why it ended up on the bside of the professionals? Its not even the same label! Was steve mancha in the group i wonder?
  24. This is by no means my absolute fave ever! But a tune that is very different from the norm, love the structure, the girls backing, and his voice! And i would love the 45 too! But i certainly always regard this in my top 10!
  25. I reckon with some meticulous work i could make that go again!
