  1. Right yeah I’m with you,I understand what you mean,I’m also intrigued! wonder if I can play it on youtube and put the iPhone translater app in front of it?
  2. Mate I was been serious, can you not play the English one and get the lyrics from that? Or is the Italian version completely different lyrics? sorry if I misunderstand you mate
  3. Same as the English one in it?
  4. Looks like one of those 70’s boot acetates a bit like the emi ones, usually with a couple of popular northern tunes of the day! certainly nothing genuine
  5. Saw him once at grt Yarmouth weekender maybe 1989/1990? Apart from chuck Jackson I found him to be the most entertaining and mesmerising, all is music is very inventive and slightly left of typical soul music! big loss rip
  6. Some very nice pieces in there, great mix, don’t image there are many of the classics knocking about? lee
  7. Everyone’s getting older can’t see proper
  8. I’ve learnt not to rush in,use your common sense and experience, and if it’s an unknown or a new style your dipping your toe in with, then do extra research! personally I’m to lazy for unknowns now,it’s got have a label on it,and be a proven 45 over many many years
  9. No ,Jim smirk and Glenn hunter, both from Macc, but passed away within a couple of years of eachother.
  10. Did you know Jim,glenn (both passed) ? I use to go to keele,Bradford,Blackburn etc through the late 80’s and most of the 90’s,aswell as all the early weekenders(grt Yarmouth..cleethorpes)? lee
  11. That’s dedication for half hour me and my mate were just as daft walking from Macc to a keele all-nighter in the late 80’s and same as you getting one lift to kill maybe 5 miles of the walk!
  12. Sounds like the producers of Bobby blands shoes thought they would borrow from Bobby hebbs sunny then
  13. Sorry to give slightly off topic, but what was released first Bobby blands shoes or Bobby hebbs sunny? remarkable similarities in song, title, and both bobbys!
  14. M-copy on jm’s ending next week! But I suspect you already know this lee
  15. Fair play, totally agree my mate! anything after the USA demo or issue is a second best
  16. I must admit like a lot of 45s I always avoid the USA version as I find there are to many pressing/boot variants, just to confusing! I wonder in this case if it’s worth throwing that extra 100 quid at it and getting the uk copy which will certainly be original!
  17. Actually upon flicking through YouTube,it appears that the stateside and “Eric” mix is different from the USA and uk mercury release? But you can’t always trust YouTube!
  18. Said song as always been in my top 10 oldies ever! although, the 45 releases confuse me? How come the mix for the uk releases is different from the original USA smash mix,I personally prefer the later uk mix, sounds more accomplished, whereas the smash mix sounds out of joint on the drum breaks! and how come the uk mercury and stateside releases are like 3 or 4 years after the original USA release, makes it feel like a reissue? lee
  19. 80% of “northern soul” springs to mind
  20. Had a great time coming back to keele after all these years, the djs had something different to offer, great atmosphere, and looked well attended, will defo be at the next one! thankyou lee
  21. The shocker for me was Yvonne & violets-cross my heart… got £650 that’s nearly £150 more than the John Bowie demo achieved!
  22. Darryl Stewart -name it and claim it-wand demo vg+nice clean record nice labels £160 now £130 SOLD the sweet -broken heart attack-smash red issue ex lovely clean vinyl and labels £150 now £100 Plus post paypal as friends no quibble returns
  23. Dunno mate but your original pic does look like the bottom darker yellow one? So I reckon you can see why the other chap thought it may be the 70’s boot? Maybe if you originally mentioned yours was stamped?
  24. One on eBay along with a bunch of other big hitters! So be ready for a battle
