  1. That’s dedication for half hour me and my mate were just as daft walking from Macc to a keele all-nighter in the late 80’s and same as you getting one lift to kill maybe 5 miles of the walk!
  2. Sounds like the producers of Bobby blands shoes thought they would borrow from Bobby hebbs sunny then
  3. Sorry to give slightly off topic, but what was released first Bobby blands shoes or Bobby hebbs sunny? remarkable similarities in song, title, and both bobbys!
  4. M-copy on jm’s ending next week! But I suspect you already know this lee
  5. Fair play, totally agree my mate! anything after the USA demo or issue is a second best
  6. I must admit like a lot of 45s I always avoid the USA version as I find there are to many pressing/boot variants, just to confusing! I wonder in this case if it’s worth throwing that extra 100 quid at it and getting the uk copy which will certainly be original!
  7. Actually upon flicking through YouTube,it appears that the stateside and “Eric” mix is different from the USA and uk mercury release? But you can’t always trust YouTube!
  8. Said song as always been in my top 10 oldies ever! although, the 45 releases confuse me? How come the mix for the uk releases is different from the original USA smash mix,I personally prefer the later uk mix, sounds more accomplished, whereas the smash mix sounds out of joint on the drum breaks! and how come the uk mercury and stateside releases are like 3 or 4 years after the original USA release, makes it feel like a reissue? lee
  9. 80% of “northern soul” springs to mind
  10. Had a great time coming back to keele after all these years, the djs had something different to offer, great atmosphere, and looked well attended, will defo be at the next one! thankyou lee
  11. The shocker for me was Yvonne & violets-cross my heart… got £650 that’s nearly £150 more than the John Bowie demo achieved!

  13. Dunno mate but your original pic does look like the bottom darker yellow one? So I reckon you can see why the other chap thought it may be the 70’s boot? Maybe if you originally mentioned yours was stamped?
  14. One on eBay along with a bunch of other big hitters! So be ready for a battle

  20. That seems straight enough brich ,but I would imagine a collector selling a number of records per week with a view to selling the whole collection of possibly thousands is gonna look questionable to hmrc, unless you can prove that the records were purchased through your younger years and now selling cos your older? Profit or not, that wouldn’t be a business would it?

  22. Be my first time here since the late 80’s early 90’s,great place!
  23. Sounds like the backing to a Phil Spector tune that maybe didn’t materialise?
  24. I thought if you sell a collectible for any amount on any platform it wasn’t subject to tax? As an individual, not a business?
  25. Darryl Stewart-name it and claim it-wand discogs shows only promos (black text) including the misspelt title version,so the red text issue appears to be rare?
