My thoughts are with Maria and friends and family of Carl,A huge loss! my little story is….late 90’s I was an obsessive collector and budding dj,I went round to Carl and Maria’s house after doing a spot at the greatstone (I think) and Carl letting me rummage through there record boxes,my eyes were popping out of my head with envy,I saw what he had and thought I may as well give up rip carl atb lee

  6. Seems to me that since the mid 80’s the northern soul scene as embraced many different styles/genres,but as you point out, just a very small amount of choice cuts! Personally I like the boogaloo Latin stuff, but it’s instrumental based,so that’s maybe why only a few have cut through? 2 or 3 instrumentals in a night is more than enough! I suppose when you percentage the records at any given niter between northern…xover…modern…r&b….boogaloo/latin….garage…then it will look split pretty evenly, with northern been the dominant base?
  7. Sold now thanks
  8. This tune is more suited to a funk soul dj/collector,it appears to be a rare piece with two quality sides, personally I prefer the more upbeat side”gonna find a way” in a way it reminds of sag war fare? £400 including post SOLD record is m- both sides
