Yeah looking through popsike through recent years it’s historically 150 quid then a jump to approx 400 then overnight 2k plus!

I’m taken a back mate,I’ve seen this so many times in boxes etc for small amounts,and it never moving out of boxes,had no idea it had any demand anywhere,so I stand corrected! Good info pal jesus I wish I had bought all the slow stuff over the years!

So is this simply a case of fiddling the bids,or are people genuinely wanting to pay this for a £200 record? This has been knocking about for years at 200 quid,maybe 500 quid if it’s stone mint! Personally I couldn’t care less about any scribblings on the label,or how nice the vinyl is,when a record is as rare as this, then one has to be forgiving! My thoughts are mainly on the price tag,anyone can price what they like on anything for that matter,but I’m curious is it to show it off and maybe keep the public interest in the record,or does he truly believe it is worth this amount and will achieve it? I don’t think it would be on eBay if someone wanted it at that price? I put the value at the top end of northern soul collecting with the likes of Mello soul,prophets,junior mccants etc…no more than £20k set sale, possibly 30k at auction? what do you people value it at?

Personally I think it’s only worth 150k to him,just because he paid that sum for it,that then doesn’t mean that’s it’s true value,I doubt there is any northern soul or Motown record that would even exceed £20k today, no matter what it is,so to jump right up to 150k is ridiculous! because of it’s over hyped exposure i would go as far as to say it’s devaluing itself?

Yeah that’s true,and I don’t doubt that they bunged him a few quid for being in the vid!

Yeah you would think Tommy would have confirmed it is him whom originally recorded it,or why bother being on a video of a song that isn’t you?

This is the band doing a cover version of said song,as you see in the video Tommy hunt appears,I personally think the acetate is Tommy hunt singing,because I don’t believe a band would record,make a video,have Tommy in the video if it wasn’t tommys song! Surely Tommy must know that he recorded the song,and wouldn’t he himself be asking why they want him in the video if it wasn’t him singing?

Is the lp a uk release Julian? I suppose it’s possible they would put the 45 in there? But I thought the lp was usa?

Can’t believe I’ve never heard this before,this is top class northern soul! my first thought was it’s an unreleased Tommy hunt tune,or maybe chuck Jackson? following the YouTube comments led me to the stefan Taylor video,and Tommy hunt is in the vid,so surely the song is Tommy hunt?

Utterly pointless topic I suppose,I notice small details here and there,recently this little detail in the recording,might be my ears? the original 45 has a finger snap and hi-hat sound in the intro and eventually onto a drum beat,however the reissued Kent version has a drum beat straight from the onset,has this been added on,or simply emphasised?
