  1. So sorry to hear this sad news, my sincere condolences to Chrissie's family and friends, Chrissie R.I.P ...
  2. Thanks Dave for that.. good info..
  3. Never mind mate- keep spinning the quality tunes! thanks for letting me know..
  4. I love the 12inch of this tune, the way it's supposed to be. I know it's 7 minutes long but pure quality...
  5. Yes the boots sound fine and are quite rare in their own right- hope your copy is an original so that you can either gaze at it in amazement or sell it to help with Xmas !! lol..
  6. I have a boot on the Beacon label which doesn't have a solid centre- I think it may have been a 7t's boot- it's definitely not an original- would love a proper one to play out.. thanks for your interest in the record.
  7. No problem Mark I understand and thanks to Tobytyke for trying to get you to sell! lol- I'm the same with vinyl- like to keep as much as I can! all the best..
  8. Thanks! a good home waiting for an original! ..
  9. Thanks Mark R The original is a solid centre with anti slip milling around the edge and stamped. I think in this market it would be between £250 to £300 for one in excellent/near mint condition, Manship values it at £150 in his British Price Guide. I have a boot of it which I play at home , but would like an original to dj with. All the best..
  10. HI THERE HAS ANYBODY GOT ONE OF THESE FOR SALE ORIGINAL ONLY ON UK BEACON WITH ANTI SLIP MILLING AROUND THE EDGE AND STAMPED COULD YOU PM ME WITH PRICE AND CONDITION MANY THANKS FROM MATT.
  11. Great memories- love hearing them..
  12. Good luck! and well done!! x
  13. Dear Ian I have pm'd you
  14. Various Dj's played some of Bobby's tunes at Weston Super Mare 'Goin to a happenin'' last nite- the floor was packed as I knew it would be- totally gutted at the loss of a true Soul Man. He will be missed so much and we have lost a true gem. I know his music will always be kept alive on the scene- we owe so much to you Bobby- R.I.P and God bless you xx

    Cecil Womack RIP

Sad news- remember seeing Cecil and Linda perform at Chippenham Goldiggers when Love Wars was charting- great artist over the years who could share alot of memories- r.i.p
  16. Remember earlier in the year a copy of Ray Agee 'I'm losing again' going for over £500 with a bite out of it and this didn't play for the first 10 rotations! whatever makes people happy!
  17. I bought a Bell copy a year ago for around £500- vg copy but plays through well. It was a want of mine for years and not easy to find. I think it's pure quality and brings me back to the days when Gary Spencer used to grace the decks with it all those years ago- good to see it pleases and upsets so many people ! lol
  18. stuck some of mine on one of my record boxes- memories of many happy days!
  19. I remember giving a record to someone and then seeing it in his sales box a couple of months later! I suppose he was telling me to improve my taste! never mind it hasn't stopped me giving the odd record out to fellow soulies! I think its a great thing they have at Bridgwater Soul Nites where they have a recycling table, often soulies will bring various items to do with our wonderful scene and leave them on the table for others to take away and use!
  20. dean I agree Dean- top tune- it always goes for big dosh! would be nice to hear it out more often! hope to see you at Go Go on Saturday mate!
  21. Richard Berry's 'Have love will travel' is often a popular choice reference one of the titles
  22. It will be predictable for me with 'Time will pass you by' Tobi Legend. Away from Northern Soul I heard a story on Radio 4 when I guy arranged for the conveyer belt to stop on the way through to being burnt, everybody at the funeral gulped and then the 'Hamlet' tune played! total quality!!!
  23. I know it's not at the weekend but next Tuesday evening the greatest team in the west is at West Ham Utd!!!
  24. I went to the Jamaica Club events- happy days- didn't you have to walk through a scrap yard to get in? I remember meeting up with Ken Dunn and the other Gloucester Mods there. I also remember Pete French's Wheelwrights nite at the cattle market in Gloucester, always advertised in Black Echoes after Brady beat! Bought a few records off of Pete there, still have a couple of Major Lance Demo's in my collection, funny how you remember where you bought certain items! long time ago now but great to be seeing so many of the same faces at events today- ktf
  25. Nothing wrong with boots but I don't like to hear them played out at events. The originals often cost far too much to own. Before CD's buying boots was one of the only ways you could play your favourite tunes at home whilst dancing round the kitchen! I don't tend to buy boots unless they are cheap at a bootsale and you can sell them on to fund my addiction for originals! There are so many good compilation CD's which can be bought easily today to be heard at home.
