  1. Really looking forward to spinning a few tunes. Always a great night here, over the years. Since Johnny Rolfe's days, Keith & Mark's, now Steve and Charmain, who have been running many a top soul night here. Great memories and thanks for the invite..
Well done to Keith & Debbie for putting on this event. Also to Jeanette , Glynn and Lorry for their help. Really enjoyed the dayer from start to finish, the music from the other dj's was superb, a grand cross section of rare soul music. If you haven't been to this venue, you are missing out, keep up the great work and thanks.

  8. So sorry to hear this news, Jerry rest in peace our friend. A true gentleman who is a legend to soul music. He has always been there for us and will be sadly missed. As a Dj he was always teaching us how it should be done, his enthusiasm was second to none . We all love you pal keep spinning the wheels of steel up above - much love from Matt & Sarah xx
  9. Glad to see Anthony enjoying the scene so much, really great how it brings so many people together. Keep spinning the wheels of steel and wearing your shoes out on Northern Soul Dance Floors up and down our wonderful land. All the best and Keep the Faith!
  10. Yes a very good social day out. Also went to view on the Thursday but only a small amount viewing. I think alot of people bidded on line. Always good to meet up with like minded souls. Also a top cafe up the road where a few of us had a good chat after and before the event. Much more socialble than bidding on line. Well done to those who had the bargains, however alot went for the going rate, if not more after auction charges. I would say not bad for collectors but hard for dealers to make on the classic titles. Some very interesting lots with the acetates , the Buddah Records, Tommy Dent, Yellow Brick Rd etc. Loved every moment.
  11. Such sad news, rest in peace. I was privileged to have been able to Dj with Roger on a number of occasions, these guys will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to all their family and friends.

  19. It's an addictive scene in more ways than one, when you get gripped with collecting records it is wonderful to see and if you are lucky enough, to own such records. Also you have the history in front of you of many artists who struggled to release a recording, which is sad that they are not getting their rightful cut of such record deals. A great deal of the records sold are works of art in their own right coming from a period of time that will never be repeated. Who knows what the future will hold with prices? When you have so many great tunes out there, there will probably always be a market. Happy hunting to you all!
  20. It was reissued on Kent, but if you look on Discogs there is a note of a boot. All the best and happy hunting!
  21. I'm not saying that I was the reason for the KFC Adverts reference Northern Soul, but a time before the adverts started I had a knock at my door in Wiltshire from a market research company. They asked if I would mind answering a few questions on fast food for a voucher to be sent on at a later date. I thought why not, the person had a laptop and showed me a few advertising videos, after each one they asked me what I thought and did I know the company. The first was for burger king as I noticed the logo, they asked would I buy more of their food, I said no chance!, the second was for Mcdonalds and I answered the same. The third was for KFC with Frank Wilson sound track, I said that it was brilliant and that I would buy more KFC certainly, they asked why and I said- top tune to hear whilst eating your food- we need more adverts like this!!! I chuckled as the market researcher left my house. When I saw the amount of KFC commercials involving soul music in the future, I was shocked- probably just a coincidence!!
