  1. Not the usual overpriced item here - on the contrary! But my question is why? Does anyone actually use these nowadays? https://www.ebay.com/itm/CAR-TAX-DISC-HOLDER-NORTHERN-SOUL-KTF-BRAND-NEW-/270500234235?rmvSB=true
  2. BUMP - Still looking for all of these
  3. BRILLIANT! - I always like to hear a writers interpretation of their song - other sides not bad either.
  4. It's a boot - probably worth about £10 - £15
  5. The "silver" one is 40S-45-2020B It also has "nashville matrix" scratched in but the matrix is quite illegible and could quite easily be another word Can't help with the "black one"
  6. Why the difference in timings on the demo (and the issue without the A) versus the "normal" issue. Is the 12 second variance the intro?
  7. lol no it doesn't answer my question but I've just found a site describing the recording session and explaining why there is distortion. Also an initial run of 500 copies which I suspect is the silver text as that is the one photographed in the article (it is also the same as the text on the Lost Soul record)
  8. Thanks for this Paul - I've tried to try and see if there is a difference on Youtube but to no avail - two with Silver text and I think one is better quality. I wonder which came out first? T
  9. Could anyone tell me if there is a difference in sound quality or value between the black text and the silver text? Cheers Tony
  10. I personally would prefer 4pm till 10/11 simply because at my age it takes me days to recover from a niter and it is much easier for me logistically to do those times travelling from Scotland. I know there is an oldies do at the Box on a Sunday at these times and it is well attended.
  11. Does anyone know how to block someone from bidding on your sales items on ebay? CANCEL - I HAVE FOUND IT
  12. This is a very useful feature given that I suffer from dsylexia - I'll start using it
  13. Does any kind soul have any of the following for sale? The Mansion - The Girl Next door - Gibbs Royal Chessmen - Begging You - Custom Fidelity Please pm with condition & price if you can help. Thanks Tony
  14. I think it's similar to "we are where we are"?
  15. So guys One that really gets me is when we are told what will happen to those underplayed grails and so forth if they do not sell. SO - they may go on to ebay (or evil bay) or they may go back in the box - does it really matter where they go?
  16. If it is the same Colette Kelly as above it would be as strange as the Lena Zavaroni release on Stax
  17. I never thought I'd ever buy a Jackson Five album but I had to to get this lovely version of the Delfonics La La Means I Love You
  18. I think it has been like this for some time so if you paid £11.70 vs. £7.25 they guarantee the Saturday delivery. Having said that I have done lots of Special D's on a Friday which were delivered the next day so I'd always go wit the cheaper option.
  19. - yet another idiot! Hope you didn't have a picture with your listing 'cos that would have compounded their idiocy.
  20. He couldn't be bothered to return the record but he could be bothered to keep AND leave a negative! He is just a nasty nasty w*****r but unfortunately there are a few of those types around.
  21. Some interesting points here and I have to look at it as both a buyer and a seller. I do appreciate that new mailers do cost money but anything more than 50p above actual postage rate doesn't sound right to me. Agree that the quality of the packaging is the most important thing and I have no qualms about receiving or reusing old mailers as long as there are sufficient cardboard stiffeners. My heart sinks when I see one of those thin envelope type mailers on the doormat as I've had so many breakages over the years and when I open it and find only one flipping' flimsy stiffener! - well I'd never buy from that seller again. My favourite seller (non UK) is Craig Moerer because he only charges $8.50 when most other US sellers are $12 - $16 on average but then there are those incredibly unbelievable prices ($19) and that is ignoring the ones who use the customs rip off service His packaging is to me perfect in that it is very well packed and lol it is easy to get the record out (but that's another story) The comments about the Paypal F&F are the ones that I can't decide on - depends on whether I'm buying or selling and if I'm buying it depends on how much postage I'm being charged. I think on SS it is accepted that most sellers ask for F&F - I don't have a problem with that unless the seller was new/unknown and if I wanted the record so badly I'd offer to pay the fees. As a seller I do ask for F&F and just because there is no Paypal protection it doesn't mean that I (and the vast majority of sellers on here) would walk away from any responsibility they have. I personally would do anything to avoid contributing to PP's obscenely high charges so how would it be if sellers on SS added 4% or so to each list price and offered a discount for buyers who paid thru PP f&f ? Would this give comfort to the buyers who want the security of PP protection? btw how times have changed - I can remember mailing 100's of $$$ a time back in the 90's long before we heard of PP
  22. Just got mine yesterday but well worth the wait. I love the instrumental and it's good to have it on a legit release. The question is - what will they bring out next? I wish they would do Honey & The Bees Make You Mine which as far as I know has never had a vinyl release.
  23. I've been noticing horrendous postage rates on SS lately. Anything from £2.50 to £4 recorded when the actual cost is £2.37. I've also seen £10 special D when actual cost is £7.25. I can't figure out how sellers can justify these rates - why not just charge the actual postage rate and if they do want to make a profit on packaging or time spent going to the post office why not build it in the selling price?
  24. Thanks Dazz but I have that one
