After another of my regular Smokey sessions I thought I'd ask if any of you knowledgeable people can help me with something that's been buggin me for ages as I'm sure that my memory is playing tricks on me. Whenever I listen to "Don't think it's me" I keep thinking I've heard it recently (well say last 10 years or so) by one of those boy bands. Am I imagining this? Also when I listen to "Just losing you" (what a track!) the intro is the same - or very similar to Gene Pitney - " half heaven half heartache" which reminded me of something else that's been gnawing away at me years. I can't get the idea out of my head that I heard a cover version of this( well same backing track) at a niter back in the 90's - round about the time Droylsden started - any ideas of what it could be or is it just my imagination running away with me

I went to my first weekender last November - big mistake!! I left early - bout 6.30 on the Sunday after I'd heard Lorraine Chandler for the 6th time since Friday nite - don't mind the track but I wish these DJ's would show some imagination!!!

Two weeks ago I got stung for a £96 customs/PO/Admin charge and I decided then that I will not be buying any more 45's from US. Consequently these new postal charges won't affect me. It will probably mean that I'll miss out on some of my wants items but hey ho it's only a record after all

See this is now back down to £86 on Amazon - I guess that someone must have got mixed up with their currency conversions. It's still a high price for a cd set but I've splashed out cos it was the only label I ever got close to completing (all of which have long gone) and it will let me see if the Cindy Gibson tracks (which i last heard in early 80's) are as good now as they were then.

Gosh there have been so many memorable sets but 2 I remember fairly vividly were: Gary Rushbrooke at a Todmorden all dayer one bank holiday (must have been early 80's?)- I was just getting into the scene properly and every thing he played was brilliant. That was also the day I first heard the Rose Valentine & sisters 3 track by Richard - amazing day! Ady at a Winsford niter - I remember he was playing lots of that great RCA stuff and stacks of other top drawer sounds, the floor was packed througout his set and when out of the blue, he played the Tams, the place just erupted - I've never seen a reaction like it.

Would anyone really buy anything off a seller with no feedback history. Even if my top want was up at a ridiculously low price I wouldn't touch it. In fact I don't go near any sellers where the feedback is private - I likt to see what they have been selling in the past.
