  1. Aren't the Anglos from the US, although Incense had 3 british releases (Island, Brit and Fontana) there was also the fantastic 'Since You've Been Gone (Scepter). Other goodies - Lulu - Nothing Left To Do Than Cry (get beat ballad better than Elkie on her UK EP) Ronnie Hall - I'm Going Nowhere (Fontana) The Chants - Sweetest Feeling/Candy (RCA - under rated double sider) J J Jackson - Come See Me (Strike)
  2. Dee Dee for me, although her material is less consistent, who could compete with Bacharach/David, she definately has a more soulful vocal. Top tracks: We're Doing Fine Alfie (best version - actually recorded in the UK) Don't Give Up On Us Worth Every Tear I Cry Do It With All My Heart Quality!!
  3. Rich, don't know if you're being funny? But I know it was aimed at the general public, just thought that it was a bit rushed, and although I'm not a fan of Dusty's later stuff, 70's, 80's, & 90's seemed to be overlooked. That's all. Halfwitted, I don't think I;m that bad!
  4. This was a wasted opportunity, but it would be difficult to do her justice in an hour. On the plus side, some great unseen clips, great to see Baby Washington, she looked fantastic, didn't even realise that Dusty had recorded 'Doodlin'! They should have interviewed Vicki Wickham for longer and what about interviewing Madeline Bell, Kiki Dee and some of the backroom staff at Philips involved with her productions. Clips with Jerry Wexler and co were also good.
  5. Not soul related by check how this seller trys to unwittingly catch buyers out with his postages costs! https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Adidas-Predator-Abso...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. Ferret, pm'd you. TTM
  7. I was wrong actually came out in 1973: Mercury 73397 - All the Love That Went To Waste / I Haven't Got Anything Better To Do* - 1973
  8. Actually titled 'I Haven't Got Anything Better To Do' Great slow ballad, but I think it's only LP or you can get it on The Mercury/Blue Rock Sessions CD.
  9. Thanks for all your replies, my mate now has one or even two!
  10. Looking for this for a friend. Thanks TTM
  11. Got thrown out of 'Record & Tape Exchange' in Notting Hill Gate, in about 1981, in the vinyl collectors area, they accused me of changing the labels on a couple of UK Motown LP's ,which was ironic because for a change I had a pocketful of money (I'd just got my grant cheque!). Never understood their policy that you had to have a degree to work there! So some w*****r who's got an economics degree is telling me I would bother to change labels on a couple of Supremes LPs's that cost a couple of quid each!!!
  12. In no particular order: Curtis Mayfield Robert White (for every great detroit Motown track, probably the greatest for output alone) Steve Cropper
  13. Pete Can you put it here correct speed, and then are you interested in selling it?
  14. Simply because the bootleggers think there is a demand, and ABC (Universal) won't license the tracks cheaply enough to make it variable. That still doesn't make it right!
  15. Most probably Maurice White, later of Earth Wind & Fire, he being part of the Chess house band.
  16. I think Ady is spot on here, although many records claim to be licensed officially, they are not! In many cases it's not the groups members or solo artists who own the copyright( despite the fact they think they do!), but whom ever owns the catalogue of a particular record label or publisher. This can also have the unfortunate effect that the artists do not receive any royalties because if they are unaware the copyright owner has licensed any particular titles. On the otherside, due to the length of time since the original product was licenced, current copyright owners have no contact details for the artists concerned. TTM (with my work hat on!!)

  18. Mark I've pm'd you. Just to clear this up, I was after the flipside, not 'Do The Cissy', and thought I could get one for about £20, as that's what it's valued in Manships guide. Thanks Tim
  19. Whoops didn't realise it was a demo, although current Manship value is £20. Which is about what I'd pay.
  20. Not that much of a bargain you sold one for a £10 a while back! https://www.northern-soul.com/modules/newbb...um=4&topic_id=7
  21. Lost one on Ebay at £15, what do you think Mark? thanks TTM
