  1. Thanks TTM
  2. Rob was on Eastenders again last night at Billy & Honey's wedding! Standing behind Pat! How do you do it Rob.
  3. Linda Jones - Hypnotised (Loma)
  4. It's called Hippy Skippy Moon Strut by The Moon People, there's also a vocal version apparently. Big once on the Funk scene. Sample here: https://www.juno.co.uk/search.php?q=moon+pe...&column=all
  5. The Barron Knights version is great w/a harmonica solo in the middle eight. I always play it out whenever the situation suits. TTM
  6. PRS do not issue 'one off' licences for venues, it isn't financially viable. In the unusual event of a venue not having both licences, they have therefore decided to pursue a non-musical policy at their venue. They shouldn't be booking nights that feature music. TTM
  7. I've got a whole 3 hour video of this somewhere!
  8. What a voice still!!
  9. JM, Is this not Val Simpson's demo for this song??
  10. Earl Van Dyke (this does have some good tracks) Motown Memories Volume 2 - has some great pictures outside Hitsville.
  11. I've actually sold most of the 'big' records I owned, although this was only about 15 - 20 and none was worth more than about £150, probably most in 50 - 100 region. This enabled me to buy loads of really good cheap known and semi-known + some great new sounds. I could never afford to spend £200+ on one records, I'm not staying that people shouldn't, it's all down to personal choice. But doing this has enabled me to continue my hobby of collecting great sounding original 45's of 60's soul genre in it's loosest sense as I like R&B, club soul, hammond, northern etc. Interesting thread, showing it's not always about the most expensive records. Having said that one of my favorite weekly pastimes is looking at Manships auctions and checking what stuff goes for!
  12. Thanks. TTM
  13. Question 4: Exactly how rare is Sam Dees, before this happened? Number of copies pressed?
  14. PRS Public Performance money goes into a larger pot which is paid out in various ways, you can see this on the PRS website if you're interested. Unfortunately it wouldn't be econonically viable to pay such small royalties to the interested parties as the admin fee would be larger than the royalty. TTM
  15. There are at least 4 versions of COMB by Junior Wells, all only on LP, one on the Lp Rowly mentioned earlier 'It's My Life' and a different one on 'Coming At You' both on Vanguard. There's also a great live version on the 1970 LP called the Chicago Blues and some 70's version's as well. Also good is Crazy Music by Buddy Guy, at least this is on 45, far superior to that track about a funny wig! which doesn't contain any trademark guitar licks!
  16. Good track this, also look out for 'If You Don't' good beat ballad on the flip of Rusty Bells, easy to find and cheap.
  17. I've bought a few things from him before and never had any problems. TTM
  18. Thanks for all the replies, but particularly to Grant who posted what I need.
  19. I thought there was one on hear, I did a general search of the site and got that version with the rapping on it!
  20. Vocal version is by Marsha Gee, although I don't think anyone knows who it actually is? It's from a Virtue Studio acetate that was discovered by Keb Darge, the instrumental is out there on CD, don't know where that came from though.
  21. Could one of the moderators please move this thread to 'Look In Your Box' Thanks
