    hi many years ago 1974 /75 was told by someone dont remember who, that crates of records from u s a were used to fill up cargo space,also as ballast.on ships is this true .the reason i ask, around that time i use to frequent a shop in ilkeston Derbyshire called daves surplus he was mainly into stamps and coins but the shop was full of records and sometimes there would be cardboard boxes full of demos . no this isnt a dream before you ask also never found anything other than a sam moultrie demo many thanks tim

    found this in a junk shop 30 odd years ago always thought it was a great record ,but didnt fit in with what was being played back then.sadly sold it to rob smith with loads of other records for 200 quid. i think i might have lost out on that deal /oh well

    while were on about notts venues did anyone on here ever go to the adelphi club,it was on the same road as the strathdon hotel fri, nights resident djs were john poole and andy lee.there was no bar and you had to walk down to the strathdon for a pint.also does any body know a black guy called paddy from palais all dayers

    i would like to mention some djs who never get mentioned nowdays for there contribution to this great scene,they may not be djing now but back in the 70s they did clubs in the notts derby area,and inspired many people like me to expand our horizons and try all nighters. many thanks john black ian walker denny john poole andy lee jonathan derek sheldon hector cant remember any more

    for me its got to be rob smith, bought my first record off him many moons ago,and have seen him dj at more venues than i care to remember

    dear god, if people going to a soul night or all nighter need to know that all the vinyl played at the venue is the certified original then the scene surely has lost its way
