  1. Yep that told us Benji.... my new valuation, I'd expect you to insure this piece for up to 250 pounds. It may fetch more at auction, the hand writing being a prime example of capitalised handwriting not generally found on examples like this.... A rare find, it's been a pleasure to to cast an eye on such beautiful item, thank you for bringing it in....
  2. yep that shot out at me also...
  3. I can't tell whether that's tounge in cheek, but The night is a classic northern track anywhere and everywhere it's been played for well over 30 years, it was a school club disco record when I grew up in Birmingham... Regards the ad, I get it, but seems a bit obvious for my taste, but then I'm not the target audience.... either way it's a bit of fun innit.... mal
  4. That's more Soul Train with Don C.., than Northern soul... just saying

  6. Ebay... wasnt a really well know back then. Ebay is crap now but throughout the 2000s you could get some real cheap 45s

  16. I Don't think Ive ever seen one of these D-Town Devotional Series 45s before, I'm sure the Detroit collectors on here know them well, but for those of us who dont, cool aren't they.. :-)) Love a list, anybody got any more of these, I feel a listing coming on... Mal:-)
  17. I like playing the above one more than my original copy, Bought the SOS 45 in the 8ts, had no money, all I could afford at the time, excluding a small amount for my beer money... its lived with me that old 45.....
  18. the shadows no other love / usa, is that the flip to 'my love has gone' ?
  19. Just listening to an mp3 of Monique - If You Love Me, and then my gold copy and noticed one version has Tambourine, one does not.... might be some weird recording i guess, but there are two labels of this release, gold and orange / white, are the two different takes perhaps? Im sure this has been discussed before, but I got all excited there for a moment... :-/ Mal;_)
  20. Vegetable rights and peas... sheer class....
  21. Music is for everybody.... that's my opinion. As for Divs, were all divs for paying the current prices of 45s, that said I've stopped buying Northern soul 45s, I'll come back to it, But I won't pay the prices anymore... love it all though, oldies, new oldies, undiscovered oldies, exclusive oldies, and plain old oldies... there all old int they... laughs does that exclude me from being a Div? What ho!
  22. Great listening again Chris, really enjoyed this little series:-)))
  23. I would have thought they would have included the unreleased June Jackson sides, if they had access to tapes or masters? that alone would have sold the CD..
