Hi all, anybody know if this has been reissued or bootlegged? i found a 12 inch red label copy of this track the other day, can’t make my mind up about it... discogs, that bastion of pricing rare soul 45s, offers one copy at over a grand.... don’t believe discog pricing as most of it is just made up, but if my red 12 is orig, what’s it worth... mal

I was at Bath races last week with work, bet a few quid, won two races but this young fellow called ‘spiritualist’ came in last... now I know why he didn't really race at all but he did do a great ‘Cha Cha Cha’....

Can’t remember his name now but he is a famous dealer that guy, bought mail order from him, but if your British after Soul in off the street, forget it....And all around that area it’s much the same I’m afraid...

The only thing with this shop is the owner has two boxes of evenly priced 6/7ts more collectible soul funk 45s, you have to buy 2 or 3 to see any more from behind the counter. id have done it but there simply wasn’t anything for me in those first boxes... so I walked out he had great Lps as well, heard he is sitting on some good stock but it’s only offered if you buy a min...

I was working in Manhattan a few years back and tried all the shops, would not bother to be honest, the markets are the only place you will find reasonably priced 45s... pickings are slim though, but you will certainly find lots of 45s on Spring, hundreds of em ! My advise get out to places like Long Island, get on the subway and travel a bit... and deffo go to flea markets, you never know Good luck

Scrolled much of this thread and could not see mention of their inclusion into the film ‘Detroit ‘ Which used part of their early days as a story within the film, notably the Algiers Motel incident during The 1967 12th Street Riot. Brilliant film and well worth watching if you haven’t seen it yet....

JJ Barnes - Think I got a good chance / Love at first sight / Hayley Ernest Baker - Alone Again / Grapevine M- Straight reissue of the brilliant Blue Soul original, should not need an introduction but if you like a good synth with your soul, here it is! William Bostic - What you do to me / SOR. M-Second issue direct from William, signed by the man as well. Tower of Power - Clever Girl / WB ex++ some shallow hairline scratching, does not take away at all, Nout wrong with it... this is such a brilliant laid back soulful 45, the tower at the top of their power! William Bell - Trying to love two / Mercury ex++ the best version in my opinion, such a great soul song... Samson and Delilah - Got to get myself together/ Honey / Match records M- great driving soul track from 1977 out of Philly... Chuggs and then some! Flip is a nice slower too... Cross Fire - Take me back / Virtue ex++ another more Philly sweet soul from 74, this is a brill track, which goes up a gear a min or so in, great lead vocal, for ten quid, it’s a steal ! That’s strange as I bought both as i thought they were released, anyhow it seems my memory is essentially crap! Lol on a more interesting note, if I have the Kent and Grapevine do I have the two mixes covered, or is the koko 45 still different

It has been great over the last few years, lots of great 6ts and 7ts / 8ts unreleased coming out, the most recent one I got wobbly over is the brilliant Jimmy Gresham 45 on Real Soul, a job well done that!
