  4. Scrolled much of this thread and could not see mention of their inclusion into the film ‘Detroit ‘ Which used part of their early days as a story within the film, notably the Algiers Motel incident during The 1967 12th Street Riot. Brilliant film and well worth watching if you haven’t seen it yet....

  8. Hi all, seventies cheapies but by no means a single spanner in there, everyone a winner! given they are all below £15 I’d offer 1st class (uk) on these at £2:50 on a single 45. 1st class signed £3:00 within the uk overseas just say where you are and I’ll quote ya Creative Funk - Ready made family / creative funk vg++ some crackles but plays absolutely fine £ Brief Encounter - Human / Total Satisfaction / Sound plus (SoulJazz Reissue) M- absolute top quality mid-tempo 7ts track, both sides are the business! JJ Barnes - Think I got a good chance / Love at first sight / Hayley Ernest Baker - Alone Again / Grapevine M- Straight reissue of the brilliant Blue Soul original, should not need an introduction but if you like a good synth with your soul, here it is! William Bostic - What you do to me / SOR. M-Second issue direct from William, signed by the man as well. Tower of Power - Clever Girl / WB ex++ some shallow hairline scratching, does not take away at all, Nout wrong with it... this is such a brilliant laid back soulful 45, the tower at the top of their power! William Bell - Trying to love two / Mercury ex++ the best version in my opinion, such a great soul song... Samson and Delilah - Got to get myself together/ Honey / Match records M- great driving soul track from 1977 out of Philly... Chuggs and then some! Flip is a nice slower too... Cross Fire - Take me back / Virtue ex++ another more Philly sweet soul from 74, this is a brill track, which goes up a gear a min or so in, great lead vocal, for ten quid, it’s a steal ! Email me if you want any of those if you would be happy to take the lot? mal
  9. New kitten today, already over the vinyl!
  10. That’s strange as I bought both as i thought they were released, anyhow it seems my memory is essentially crap! Lol on a more interesting note, if I have the Kent and Grapevine do I have the two mixes covered, or is the koko 45 still different
  11. One of those bleached out shots...
  12. My lad at the wkd, perfect thirds on the bottom one
  13. It has been great over the last few years, lots of great 6ts and 7ts / 8ts unreleased coming out, the most recent one I got wobbly over is the brilliant Jimmy Gresham 45 on Real Soul, a job well done that!
  14. I like a bit of randomness ! Selection of Instagram pics with filters...
  15. Odd selection of pics from me today, this was at the ‘Hassleblad’ stand at the Photography show at the NEC recently, Apollo Hasselblad used by the crews in training. Don’t think this actual one made it into space but it was a lovely thing to gaze at... photo to give context below, proper boys stuff... I love it
  16. Just found this Fab photo of Tim and Rick (rip) I took in 1996... at the ‘Mill’
  17. The Kent 45 Reissue actually came out first than the Grapvine one... I love it so much I bought both copies....
  18. Wow, just nice to see another turn up....
  19. This is not a record that would grace those pages but I got a copy of Jay Wiggins - Lonely girl on JW recently, very cheap too, and I’m looking to sell the IPG copy I have, paid 40 to Pete in 94/5 and guess what it’s still worth 40 quid!!! Lol some things never change it seems.... love DJ Honeys show, she is cool, it’s well worth a listen :/)
  20. More from Prague, and the bottom one is a customers magazine stock of returns... print business isn’t what it used to be...
  21. In Prague a few weeks back on business... last visited in 91, it’s chsnged a tad!! But the architecture is still stunning
  22. En route to Bournemouth one sunny morning last week
  23. Pmd ya... m
  24. I loved this book! I was born in 69, so was in 1st year secondary the year the casino closed, so I’ve heard a great many stories over the years about splits and falling outs, but that seems to be the fodder of Northern soul unfortunately, Richard Searing was on the whole better to leave all that out. If you look at most of the better books written by UK soul followers it’s a patchwork, no one book can do it all... Richards book for me though sits right next to several others that are ‘essential reading’! Mal
  25. And NZ Kapp always look the biz
