  1. The Electrodes on Fran /WD blue vinyl USA nice one, I’ve sold mine now but I’d live that over the yellow label issue...
  2. Apologies if this has been up already, actually I won’t apologise for this one it’s brilliant!
  3. Well joe you were out of the blocks there mate, but urrrr I think we all had the ‘monster’ several times... lol Bourgie bourgie is great, Romona Johnson did s good cover back in early 2000 or so, also did a great cover of ‘taste of bitter love’ on Dome records... liberal use of the ‘hat’ thumbs up, well if you can’t say it about Ashford Simpson what’s the use of having it!!!
  4. Still stunned by the ‘many’ unbelievable Gladys Knight + pips tracks there are, just when you think, I heard all they gotta give, you hear another you have never heard of... just unbelievable group:-)
  5. Always loved this calibration between them... just so I got this right, as in the back of my mind remember this may not have been them, but this is penned and sang by Josie, Nick and Valarie...?? arranged by Gene Page :/)
  6. Wow... that’s what we want!
  7. Cost ya nothing as well,,,https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/4396101?ev=rb
  8. Here’s one of my favourites, Ashford & Simpson ‎– It'll Come, It'll Come, It'll Come.., utterly brilliant building song that never gets much recognition as far as I can see, can’t find a you tube clip I’m afraid, so all I would say is seek it out and buy blind with utter confidence !!! Can’t go wrong on this one mal
  9. all gone everywhere it seems, must have checked 5/6 sites, all sold out if anybody has a spare?
  10. Well cool, never seen that before... I’ve pre ordered btw!
  11. Cool init... I prefer it to the released GW side, sacrilege that is...
  12. That’s the one, and the same cd, I transferred the mp3s long ago so don’t have the sleeve notes, but I’m sure the notes said different version by Edwin Starr...
  13. Holidays - I love you Forever there is a better version than the golden world 45, with Edwin on vocals that are well to the fore, came out on a Soul Supply cd I think, I have it on MP3, anyhow I wonder did it ever get a vinyl release? Best malcolm
  14. Wow, very excited about this book Mark, looking forward to it :/) What’s the Philips cover, is that Lp from a different territory?
  15. Having a copy of that, great track !
  16. Old thread, but this track just came up on my I-tunes as I’d grabbed both incomplete mp3s when they were on Ebay. Im interested to know whether this has got played out since it was sold back in 2014? Anybody know more? mal
  17. Just listened to John manships clip online, shows a red issue on that, unless it has one of those black DJ stamps they used to use... he has got a great voice hasn’t he, which sounds really familiar, maybe that’s just from ‘Seven the looser’, track has slightly inane lyrics but it’s catchy, sounds a bit like ‘Turn back the hands of time’...
  18. Euskal Pintada ‘Graffiti’ !
  19. Never considered that, but can’t think of any other 45s under the name... br interested to know who sang ‘Chicken Roll’ lol
  20. Interesting, I worked for PYMCA way back before the dates you mention, I know the owner sold some images to Rex, which was bought by Shutterstock Editorial, but I’m not surprised to hear about your experience, unfortunately it happens allot. I would say you don’t need a lawyer, simply demand a list of the images they hold, the sales they have made to which magazines and media outlets, and a list of dates, and most importantly the fees they charged. Once you have this, you can get to work. Review your rights via the government copyright website. Good luck malcolm
  21. allot of Mary's 20th Century classic here on Aussie labels, very nice on white test demo as well also one of her earlier Jubilee recordings that came out on the London Label, dist with a Decca sleeve... I have all her Motown 45's but will try to scan later, its interesting to see how much Motown re issues things like 'My Guy' etc later in the sixties... Mal
  22. I keep a big box of assorted yank and Aussie ones, some British... always looking for certain sleeves though, especially good quality Aussie, Astor, Atlantic (Green), Festival (Blue Logo) and W&G, but must be the correct sleeves for their import series... :-)
  23. Cheers Tony, might get one... you don’t expect miracles in this day and age but a ton of new 45s to play on a Friday evening with a glass or two... :/)
