  1. I got onto 'Margie Joseph - One more chance' pretty quick once I started to collect originals, think Rob Pheasant had two copies, one was a bit less than the other, some marks on the label so I had that one, think it was £20/25 quid, something like that. remember when all the in sounds were about £25 quid, not super rare but cheapies were £4, tenner for intesresting label stuff, £25 quid for a track thats being played.... not the super rare stuff... Geater Davis I got out of a shop in Brighton, I used to do the 'change the price tag' trick, or sleeve trick, I know... he never noticed and I bought there every week, so this chappy did well of me, and it wasnt Alan at Across the Tracks.
  2. Good label Black Falcon, I got that 'Weeknights - What did I do wrong' for a few quid in a shop in Brighton, very worthy 'Brenda Parker - Help Me Find Mr Good Man' is another on that label worth getting, and they are CHEAP!!
  3. np, but you should check your in-box for the future, I did send you an pm yesterday, you might have won the pools and never knew it!! laughing Great 45....
  4. Just reading on Discogs that Judy Stokes of 'Kiss Our Love Goodbye' fame was in the Ikettes, I hope that is correct, anyhow there is a long list of names under the Members tab on their Discogs entry, allot with lines thorugh, not sure what that means, but how many great singers sang with or along side the Ikettes?? Mal
  5. Pm'd you Shelly, did you see it? I'll be blunt, do you want to sell this 45? Mal
  6. Wow,that’s a great release of this track
  7. ‘PlanetZanussi‘ love that expression..! Shall we change the subject and talk about Cecil Washington?
  8. she did, all these versions are great arn't they, I just love them all... but I'd have really liked that acetate
  9. Power of the Spotify perhaps Benji? Spent my 37th Birday in Miami, went shopping and found nothing, nada, Liza my wife however had so many bags of cloths and what not, muggins had to carry half them, the only upside was we went for a coffee in a starucks and on came Spiral Staircase, saved my birthday that did because I was a right moody buggar. ahhhh the throws of youth...
  10. I'm going to give this sales list a small boost, if you havent got a copy of Ronnie Savoy – loving you on Wingate, buy it...!! I got mine in 1990 at £2 so £15 in 2021 is a bloody steal given how good it is... Just saying Mal
  11. All positive and more power to her, that’s cool so many from that age group attend. To be honest though always make me blush, if there was a camera I’d be well at the back… I think the future is here, I know that’s an obvious statement but with all the new music coming through and it’s just poured out since 2006-7 hasn’t it, northern soul will be the overall banner? or just a genre that will be played at a larger more inclusive scene… Mal
  12. I guess this is the next best thing, signed by Darrow when he played at the 100 Club, he has very neat writing
  13. Cheers Kirsty, my mixmiester programme needs updating so maybe the last show for a little while, glad you enjoyed it Mal
  14. next time Sebastian, just call me direct mate and we can do a deal there and then laughing Great item, Id love that in my collection...
  15. I was actually thinking of venturing out Baz, would be the first time in 5 years to a soul do, Ive been to live events but thats different... Ppppwwwwhhhh, cant be bothered now, I'll stay home and finger my record collection.. lol
  16. Fookin hell, I sold Greater Experience for 600 earlier this year... have I dropped a bollock?
  17. used to go to renaissance, it was good, our lot knocked about with a load of guys from Leeds and Huddersfield at the time and would meet them there... happy days indeed... I hate private number plates, its such a screaming waste of money, pure vanity imo, they should give the money to the homeless, someone who needs it, that said I was driving back from Chepstow last week and I saw a registration MI GUY on a small roadster, I did think that was cool...
  18. my god tumble weed!! well the buyer will then remain anonymous... !! who knows who won it, but I think this acetate has been the most interesting item Ive seen for sale in a long time; You must be sick of seeing and chatting about Cecil Washington yet!? laughing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373797290342
  19. Anybody here win that Darrow Fletcher - No Limit acetate that was on Ebay with Pushkings? Looks like it went for £962.67 in the end, I was there for about £300 quid then I got blown out, what a great acetate to own, I did not realise it was the only source for the Kent CD and 45 on Kent select... Mal
  20. thats right, he was appearing at few places at the time, Id have to look over old flyers, but I think 91 was really the year his career stepped up a gear isn't it? The stoke guys did a great job there as well, guys like Lee Fredericks, and Martin always said Shock C from Cov was the Bomb! Its not like the soul scene is it, I'm not interested to go to revival dos.. but great to see loads on Mixcloud and other platforms on the club... Might as well go for the triple, here is the one on the Hummingbird. Bit naughty as the image is from the Hac...
  21. Not to stick it up anybody, but do check this out, this was the prior interview with Martin Redmond, covers this period exactly. 1990
  22. You know I love you brother, BUT! we have had this conversation before! laughing Sat nights at Shelley's went on for a good while before the Amnesia lot got in I'm just saying, Shelley's was down to Martin Redmond originally, he started it, an accolade he's never really received properly in my opinion. And we were all from Birmingham... The Manchester lot started coming after the night when Derek May played, that was Aug 1990, then one of the Mix Mag guys who was part of that Sat night started to push Sasha, the rest is history as they say... just setting the record straight... as I do feel quite strongly about the kind of forgotten history of this club, with a bit of passion of course Mal
  23. That's the side I prefer, the b side.. great track, love to hear if this 'other' version is different again on the b.
  24. Hi folks, as the subject line says I want your Aussie released Soul 45's and LP's. Sixties, seventies or eighties, not interested with obscure Aussie cover versions, there is a reason they didn't sell, they were crap! With LP's I'm only after really good quality ones, proper soul artists, or any good Mod stuff, Hammond organ tracks etc... I always need original sleeves if the disc has them, if you have a stash of Atlantic , Ampar, Coral, W&G, Sue or any other good quality sleeves I'm interested. I have tons myself so can always swap if that suits Just tell me what you have, the condition etc, and pm me on here. cheers all. Malcolm
  25. Easy Jules, lots of soul boys and girls liked Punk, psychobilly etc, for the energy I guess, House, then Rave etc etc, was the same. Believe me when I say there was allot of crap that came out, but there was so much good stuff that did. Im only really interested in mid eighties till 91, after that I would not be able to say...
