  1. Can’t say whether the site I got that from was right or wrong, but maybe there had been a change of lead singer between the groups ? As I say that’s what this Doo Wop collector had stated. Might need to have a listen to both…
  2. I remember it from Albrighton, I guess it got revived.
  3. Interesting, he's a Doo Woper for sure, but looks like he was involved in some good recordings. Maybe not of the calibre of someone like Dean Parish, but I like his music. Did you notice the Don Costa credit on the Reflections ABC 45, links with the Eddie Regan thread below this one...
  4. Just reading a Doo Wop site about Frank Gino, we know his music via his Royal Crest side 'It's Only A Paper Moon' which was very trendy in the late 9ts, but a revelation to me, he was the lead singer with The Reflections on the classic "Like Adam And Eve" ABC. Frank also recorded solo as Darin D.Anna and as Lead singer of the group The High And Mighty. I'm assuming the ABC Reflections are not the same as on Went, and the Capitol group in the early 7ts... dont sound anyway near. He was also in Early Doo Wop group The Royal Aires on Gallo Records, and The Del-Quin's an unrecorded group from Long Island. Interesting singer, I wonder did he record anything else with a Northern edge, or in a Soul Groove? Mal
  5. What year would that Black Magic 45 come out?
  6. I had this a few years back, sold it now, but haven't seen another before or since, not on issue anyway... I had both Kapp 865 / 866 (Jaibi) on issue and demo which I thought was just cool, only to be out done when I saw Dave Flynn's acetates of both releases...
  7. Really? Jesus, never seen that before, got a picture Benj? Kev, I just checked, that 45 was £425 in 2011, so thats what 115% rise, or there about in ten years...
  8. Happy Christmas everybody... don't eat too much:-)
  9. Was it you Kev, that copy was a demo, I think its more common on Demo isnt it? No idea what ther JM one was, the listing seems to have been pulled...

  12. @Wilxy Hi Mike, I remember you menttioning allot of folk from Blackwood (South Wales) area used to go to the Casino. Cant imagine any of them spoke welsh back in the seventies, I might be wrong...

  14. Got a copy of the Worzels "The Combine Harvester" last week, very happy with that... so good it would probably never make Manships auction...
  15. Glad this has sold, great 45, but really, a mega rarity? its not a mega rarity, its semi rare... there was a flow of these off Ebay a decade or so ago, lots of them for a while, probably gone now, but they are out there in soul collections...

  19. Lovely sky Steve, that looks a great little lake. Went to Mathern Mill Saturday night, like you blanked, maybe two liners, but the Carp were like me tucked up in bed in as warm water as they could find I guess, not a single show until the morning, and that was just one Carp over the other side of the lake. No amount of food is gonna make you eat when you are freezing your balls off, or should that be fins...! lol
  20. Name that one "The Long Walk"...
  21. Good luck John, I hope you get them back...
  22. thought that was acetate only, WOW never seen that before...
  23. This is not rare, but it is very nice... I found a few nice WD's with this chaps name on 'Dave Calef' Vanugard Productions..
  24. this is a pretty rare track on WD, Troy Dodds - I'm so in Love with you / Count of Love. 'I'm so in Love with you' is the same song different cut of his Penthouse release 'Rise up and walk'. either that or they pushed the backing to the back, pummped up his vocal, either way The Daytona one is allot better:-)
