  8. didnt know this made a Kent 'Town' single, I have it on orig, but I'd love it on Kent 45 like that... came out on Leedon Down-under.. How about: Barrett Strong - Money (That's What I Want) / Tamla first issue Richard Berry & The Pharaohs - Louie Louie / Have Love will.... / Flip Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton - Hound Dog / Peacock Etta James & The Peaches - The Wallflower (Roll With Me Henry) / Modern
  9. Little Anthony for me, just love his voice, you cant beat it... although I like them all obviously..
  10. Thanks everybody for casting your vote, but no surprises there, I wouldn't have taken any bet that wasn't Edwin... lets face it. Just wished the Marvelettes would have done better On with the next poll!! Mal
  11. We should not forget “Wide Awake in a Dream”. I just played "Rough Out There" / "Wide awake" back to back, deffo the same guy.
  12. Old thread, but its not been mentioned that over here in the Uk at least, it was always thought as Cap City being the original label, not Part III. And it seems as far as I can see that the Cap City 45 fetches allot more money, well it did, today its just silly isnt it.... Got mine from Roger Stewart, cost me a fiver....
  13. sounds like a custom carver, those tracks are not releated via label or production, to my knowledge, only thing that connects those tracks is they are all big northern tracks,, I guess if you can date the time John Anderson was selling the East Coast Connection you could roughly date this disc...
  14. Because its a nice one, dont have the other two on Aussie, wonder if they came out? would have been either HMV or Stateside. W&G did put out some Motown but not this title.
  15. yeah Rod that clips says 'with strings' so I guess thats one of em... Pursist Motown fans on this one, if thats a 'thing' at all, either go with Smokey, Rough it up with Edwin, or Shimmy in with the Marvelettes... I don't mind saying I'm with the Marvelettes.

  20. Great Temps song, with the Late Great Paul Williams Sr on lead.
  21. The Temptations ‎– The Girl's Alright With Me / I'll Be In Trouble / Gordy or Aussie Stateside. Must be in great condition, play and label.\ cheers Mal
  22. they do sound vocally quite near. On 'I Love The Way You Do' by J.T. Rhythm, you can hear phrasing quite like Jay T, but Jay T does sound deeper to me on the 'Road Ahead', although on the flip of that 45 he sounds more like J.T. Rhythm .... Still I think these two singers are different.
  23. Two detroit, One LA release. Wasn't JT / Jay Rhythm real name James Thorpe. The Jay T artist seems to have all been connected with Rene Hall who was LA based for sure. I'd say the top one maybe a differebnt artist, but there are folks on here that will know more.
  24. That explains that then. I wonder whether the Don Costa production connection on Adam & Eve /ABC has any bearing at this point?
