  1. it is nice Steve, we kinda want to move that way, the corridor from Newport up to Worcester, with the Wye valley areas on your left are all stunning, Monmouth is expensive, they have a Waitrose! lol but if you come out of town and into that green belt there, it gets far more affordable. Only down side is Liza has her eye on my record collection to fund some of this otherwise its my fishing gear, what's the use of having a great house and garden if you cant have a record room...?? laughing
  2. I was at a gardening centre on the wkd, nr Monmouth, anyhow this place over looks 'Sugar Mountain' which you can clearly see, quite distinctive! they do a mean pot of mint tea and chocolate brownie
  3. any playlist with Harvey Mason gets my thumbs up, great record enjoyed this Rose I like Christmas, but I like Summer best!
  4. I have this as a White label carver, just says his name 'Duke Turner' but now Ive looked and I cant find it on the web what so ever.... I thought that was on the flip of one of his Spinning Top records tracks, sounds like his "Let Me Be Your Babysitter" probably the same session? they do sound very alike those two tracks. Good though init..
  5. No, I’m afraid not first one is interesting…. dunno about that second clip, Spanish brothers of the band Queen?
  6. Lol… you got a top hat for that one… I guess after all is said two things stand out for me, obviously the price but if you Had known and danced to that track for 20 years would you really wanna shell out that much dosh when you could get so much new stuff you had never heard b4? I guess so in this case, pretty boring though… but there are a few oldies I’d like again, June Jackson and half a dozen others for one
  7. Cheers Ed, glad you liked it quite obscure some of those

  15. Which Marva Josie tracks were recorded in Detroit? I interviewed her in the early 2000’s that chat is on a tape somewhere. She told me the recording of ‘Don’t’ nearly never happened as Horace Ott was really really really late for the session, maybe gave them a bit of a push or intensity to get it right.
  16. wanted: Lonette - Mind Intruder / Dearborn. Issue or demo doesn't matter. Must be good label and play. Cheers Mal

  21. wow, you got close Chalky, but you can see they saw you. I guess they are used to it...
  22. Looks like the late Bob Abrahamian (Bobo) had it right... The Jenges 5002 , 45 has a different b side to the the Renee 45 'the girl i need', which was also issued on jenges 5003 , its an uptempo dancer , the indelgents has the same b side as the renee 45. 5002 was pressed twice actually, both copies read "the girl I need" but one of the pressings plays a different cut. and Mark White added "Harry Moon "Stop (You're Breaking My Heart)" on Sin, who also had a release as Harry moon on Jenges... So the circle is complete, same song, same group, same group, of labels... Cool track though, thought it sounded just like Paramount Four (Southern City) and Four Sights (Shy-Soul), kinda between the two so to speak....
