  1. Norman Feels - Norman Feels / Canadian Just Sunshine (Gatefold) Drill cut out, EX++ Sleeve & Play £40 Buyer pays post, pm me to confirm. Man of the moment with the recent Soul Direction release of some of unissued songs. I can't tell whether they came from the same sessions as the tracks on this LP, but the Soul Direction dudes used the inside gatefold image of Norman on their 45 release. All great tracks on this LP, I especially like 'Don't' and 'Till I Found You'. A Don't Till I Found You They Said It Could Not be Done Somethig In Me B My World is Empty Without you Yes You Did Something About You (Makes Me Love You) Everything is Going Our Way
  2. it's not that bad if I remember right, good record though, sold mine for £200 I think that was some years back..
  3. I'm still confusted, I'd mentioend the Emanuella Quick which had a reserve price of £300, Tim said one of two releses on the label. However I noticed you can get that same 45, same release number from ebay >>HERE<< for under 30 quid, couple listed on there. Was the one on Tim's auction the other release? cant be if it is the same number (3416-A/B) same sides...?
  4. The top 500 meets the top 50 ehhh, the key word there might be 'Attempted' I do still love allot of those records though..
  5. Oooo thats not easy at all... another 'Turnbull' terror of a choice!
  6. anybody got sound file? love to hear that...
  7. @Chris TurnbullChris, it might be intersting to note the ones that have not had a price increase? Remember Festivals 'You Got the Makings of a lover' on Smash, went up for no reason what so ever that I can work out, but they still ignore Oscar Weathers 'Just to Prove I Love you', Majestic - Send my Baby Back To Me' Dells - 'Make Sure', Fred Johnson 'Full time Dream' and dozens and dozens of others... no rhyme or reason why this happens, not like its being played on the Northern soul scene... or are they? I accept that once you have all that stuff, your gonna want to find something new, so if your young, your in, if you are an old fart like us lot, your f****d! I think its a load of B****x personally, I want the records everybody putting back, as some or most of em will be great but most importantly, CHEAP!! Enjoy your 'ILa Vann - You Made Me This Way' I've got thirty records as good for half the price!! lol

  9. looked it up, actually dates from WW2 as the text below says; But where did Jody, scourge of the deployed soldier, come from? The U.S. military’s use of term dates back to roughly 1939 when it was introduced to the U.S. Army by African-American soldiers during World War II. Originally, “Jody” was “Joe the Grinder,” and blues singers used to croon about him — a disreputable man who cuckolds prisoners and soldiers by stealing their wives and girlfriends. While he’s Joe simply because it’s a common name, the “Grinder” comes from the 19th century slang for sex. Jody literally grinds up on, and then, in your girl. By the end of the war, the name had been shortened to Joe D., then Jody, which stuck. And everyone knew who Jody was. The idea of him even worked its way into cadences. Ain’t no use in going home Jody’s got your girl and gone
  10. That's first Issue on Incredibles "There’s nothing else to say"
  11. You should use the wood glue tecnique, works a treat...
  12. How about the American term 'Jody' which refers to a soldier who sleeps with other soldier's wives or girlfriends while they are at war. Here are a few below, there must be allot more, I guess from the Vietnam war, might have been a term used in Korea , but I dont know for sure. In fact the darker shades track quotes the Johnnie Taylor title, cool record. Johnnie Taylor - Jody's got your girl and gone Songs about Duracha - Jody Is Gone Darker Shades Ltd. - Trackin' Down Jody

  18. To make a general comparrison on soul Auctions; a certain dealer in Todmorden has a track by Emanuella Quick on auction with a reserve price of £300, He says one of two releses on the label. I noticed this morning you can get that same 45, same release number from ebay for under 30 quid, quite a few copies in fact. I like Tim's auction, I think he's more in tune with reality to be honest, but there have been a few times I swolled my tounge... Now I have top go cap in hand for the Sapphires on Ampar on other said auction site... that maybe a short conversation..
  19. maybe call Covers 33? I dont think they sell a product like that but they maybe able to help...
  20. I think we got a winner... thats the one isnt it... Robb, this is not NOT Sandy Phillips and The Topovers with Don Raleigh's Orchestra, recorded at the end of the 1950s, or in the early 1960s in a Canadian studio for Masterseal/Buckingham Records, but, rather, a 2010 retro-nostalgic recording now uncovered for the first time on soul source... ish...
  21. Just adding label scans to tracks in my iTunes library, and I have drawn a blank on this track also, anybody know?
  22. Saw his mate a week back, this chap was walking around Marylebone High Road with a gold tin pot on his head! Don't know about 'Look both ways', maybe don't look up...
  23. This is good as well
  24. With all the rubish in the news just now, I'd rather share something I actually care about. Dennis Waterman RIP, Brilliant actor, as we all have a love of sixties films and music, here's Dennis in 'Up the Junction' "Evening all"
  25. I'm sure this site has been posted before, but if you want amazing sleeves, John Spencer's website lists his collection, but with a twist, every sleeve has a drawing, sketch or paining by John, if you have not seen this before, his work is stunning and highly original... http://www.johnnyspencer.info/
