  1. Just checked, The SoulSupply CD was 'Across The Board' which came out in 98... I had the Kent comp 'Sophisticated Sounds' but I dont remember it from that release... he ho, great track all the same...

Maybe a bit harsh on 'I Can't Help Myself' it's not got the finess I grant you, but it's a good pounder.  The flip is especially good 'Pretty Little Brown Skin Girl'.

I'm assuming Marjorie Black, is actually 'Ernestine Eady - The Change'?

Don’t recall Ian either finding or playing Jan Jones first. It was a Dave Raistrick find who sold it to Arthur Fenn who sold it to Sam. Ian found a batch early 83 which was months after it was first played. I spoke to him about it at the time.  The 2nd copy went to me then Ian got a copy.

strike Ian's name, insert Dave Raistrick for that one... I knew Ian found a load of them back then, I bought one from him.

  4. Think the bargain here was Pamela Beaty @£514.

Jackie Day, I got an Aussie one, a nice mint demo, which is allot rarer and I paid half that. Maybe it’s a British collectors thing reflected in the final price. Only other one I’ve always wanted was George Blackwell, @ £2k, I’m out 😞

  5. Can I add a record I've got back into in a BIG way this week?  thanks to Tony Turner for putting it on an MP3 swap, what a killer record this is... absolute class... and LP only...
Ronnie Dyson - I Want To Be Where You Are / Columbia, he also pipped this over, Lifestyle - Trying To Make It Up To You, again LP only...

    THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!

  6. I divide my records into Northern (6ts) and Modern & Crossover (Basically everything else)...

I mean 'Channel 3 - Sweetest Thing' the ultimate record that covers both genres right, too Modern for a 6ts only bod, but an oldie 7ts track for any folks that listen to anything past 81 say, when the sound changed again...

I don't recognize the quote as one from Barry Norman so presuming it's some twaddle from Mark Kermode.

Please could you expand & clarify for a thicko, eejit, dinlo like me.
