  3. I was about to ask about another 45 from this auction, so I'll add it here, The Clock Stoppers - Got To Be Mellow / CLOCK. What do folks think, white or black singer? sounds like a beach or psych group to me, something along the lines of the The Outcasts, a band like that.. The Clock Stoppers - Got To Be Mellow.mp3

  8. Cheers Andy, and sorry guys, my memory is crap, but I recognised 'Baby a Go Go' immediatly from that interview. Frank said that sound's like something Smokey would have done... and then they move onto 'Keep on Rolling'...
  9. your right, same interview, they discuss this, but its the 'Keep on Rolling' track that Frank say's he hears Brenda's voice on the record... I think it was stated as by Patrice...

  11. In his interview with Frank Wilson a long time back, Richard Searling asked about this track, and Frank Wilson thought it sounded to him like Partrice Holloway, not Brenda, wonder has this ever been proved?
  12. Not to venture too far from the main subject of this thread, Jimmy Roach as one half of the writers of SPAHOM, was an interesting character, in this Biography by Andrew Hamilton (Below), Andrew outlines how he hooked up with Gary Klein, and if you check discogs you can see the sort of songs Trade Martin was releaseing in 65, the flip 'Son of a millionaire' is Trade Martin's song, but I assume this flip side by writing duo Jimmy Roach and Gary Klein is bought in so to speak... I guess Trade Martin must have liked it and it allowed it on the flip of his Stallion release. Anyhow this biog gives this track a bit of context... https://www.allmusic.com/artist/jimmy-roach-mn0000091378/biography
  13. Just checked my inmails on here, I dont seem to have the original in mails about buying the Acetate Ive mentioned above but I do have this: Prix label owner Clem Price, The label address on the acetate is Harmonic Sound Production 1482 Felix Drive which is a different address to what appears on the release Prix record. Harmonic Sound Productions is the in house production company the song is produced by the label owner and written by the artist who was a staff musician. So it is a publishing promo as the address being different to the label address etc. I'm reliably told the guy this came from had all the tapes and master record plates etc. So all this chap had all the original tapes and master record plates, and quanity of Joe King, Eddie Ray & Royal Esquires 45's, which is where the Eccentric Soul boys got the Demo version etc of 'You Got Me' Eddie Ray etc... I assume
  14. I guess he would have been born there. I used to live there 'St Marys' in Nurses accomodation, so now the hospital has another great name along side Alexander Fleming that said I bet Fleming couldnt sing for toffee.... ! lol Mal
  15. I think one of the guys who contacted Clem Price used to sell on here? I bought an acetate of Joe King - Speak On Up from him on here, which has changed hands a few times since. all that Prix stock came from Clem Price, or as you say his estate.
  16. Found this online, small cutting from 'Jackie' Magazine, dont know the year but I guess 64/65? anyhow its quite interesting, I never knew Reg was from Paddington, The Action were always billed as being from Kentish Town, I guess thats were they lived when they were coming up, anyhow this is a cool cutting Ive never seen on a great singer who started singing in Germany at American U.S.A.F bases... who knew that... mal
  17. reminds me of Clara Hardy, was the same wasnt it... I think it was an one off, at the time for Richard Searling...
  18. Fishing again this time in Mathern Chepstow might have a couple tonight
  19. not sure if this counts as it would have been two art departments in two different pressing plants, but... The Ivories - Please Stay / The Ivorys - Please Stay
  20. Marcia Hines "You Gotta Let Go" has gone up, last I saw one for was £250... or there about... Maybe of interest to you lot, but a Clara Ward - The Right Direction on Aussie Red Verve was sold on Discogs recently, at set price £250, I've see loads of Marcia Hines over the years, thats the second Aussie Clara Ward I've seen for sale in 20 years of collecting Aussie releases. Overall though, I think prices are holding, what do folks think? those numbers although make me shudder to 3/4 years ago, for 2022 I dont see these particular 45 are rising as fast as they have, think money is hitting folks buying habbits, I think we will see a flatlining of prices in the next year or so, excepting the mega rare items of course, they will just keep going up, up and away
  21. Hi folks, I have a very nice Brazilian copy of Al Wilson's 'The Snake' see below scan, mint 45, in its original sleeve, a very nice example. I want to swap that for an Aussie Liberty release of The Snake, see below scan, anybody got an Aussie one they would like to swap? Best Malcolm

  25. If anybody is interested, I got one.. rare 45 this, rarely even seen a copy let alone own one... anyhow here it is... If you are wondering why I do alot of typos, well you guessed it, I'm dyslexic...which means I have to work ten time harder than you lot to write stuff down...
