  1. Mine says 2004, which is when I was living in Australia. I don't do Social Media any longer, Soul Source is it as far as making any view I have known... I liked allot of the forums before soul source, KTF was allot of fun, I met allot of new people on there that have never come on here, but then I lived in London before moving to Oz, and the soul scene back then was allot more vibrant., and I had more money to spend on reecords! lol
  2. Hi There, yes indeed, yet another very nice selection of US Originals, all quality records. Suffice to say these are all very nice examples of these releases. Hope there is something there for you. ----- James Phelps - Don't Be a Cry Baby / Fontana dh EX++ Class singer, always compared to Sam Cook, and this is is a fabulos song, and spanking copy with Orig Sleeve. Jay and the Techniques – Still (In Love with you) / Smash WD EX++ Reminds me of the Old Vic in Wolverhamption, one of the first Northern soul tracks I ever bought. super demo here.. Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers – It’s Growing / Gordy EX++ dh Has a scratch over the label, but rest of this fab Motown track is very much minty... Fred Hughes – Can’t Make It Without You / Cadet EX++ (West Coast Press) Hard on West Coast this one, and a lesser know track from Fred Hughes. As above and Below, very nice copy, come with Orig sleeve. O’Jays – Look Over Your Shoulder / Bell Demo Ex++ Always rated this version, every bit as good as the The Implements, George Kerr Brilliance.. and a scortching copy.. Tommy Hunt – Word’s Can Never Tell It / DYNAMO EX++ Class from Tommy Hunt, this issue is very nice disc. Ruby Winters – In The Middle Of Heartache / Diamond EX++ (West Coast Press) Very nice West Coast Press, super clean, and what a song by Ruby. The Charts – Desiree / Wand EX++ Classic, nice issue, bit of spotting on the label, see the scan. The Skyliners – Everything Is Fine / JUBiLEE WD EX++ wol (Flip) Nice WD, flip side has writing on the label, but the top side is super clean.. EX++ This is the last release via Secret Stash records, Not BIG Man Records, cheers Mark Gary (U.S.) Bonds – Workin’ For My Baby / LeGRAND EX++ The version imo, nice copy little bit of label wear in the center hole, where its been picked up again and again, you cant see it at all. ----- I prefer direct Bank Transfer but you can pay by Paypal either Friends & Family or add the normal 4% fee. The Contessas – I Keep on Keepin’ On / E George Clements Productions EX++ Demo produced by George Clements, before its release on E Records, this is the way to have this track. Lee Williams – I’ll Be Gone / Carnival VG Money track these days, great Harmony 45, this is a VG copy, plays through fine with some background noise, but its fine till you get a better copy. 7. Morning everybody. These are four releases from a series of five, I guess Promo or most probably Juke box 45's that were produced by Duke records from Bobby Bland's 'Here's The Man' Lp. There are other Mini LP 45's out there with 3 tracks per side, but these have all one song each side, solid centre and all play at 33rpm. They are very cool records. Buyer gets matching sleeves and card covers with original DUKE sleeves if I can find some for you. I never did get No1 in this series, never seen that 45 ever... Selling as a set @ £250 plus post @£8 within the Uk. No 2: Aint That Loving You / You're the One That I Adore No3: Turn on Your Lovelight / Jelly Jelly Jelly No4: Who Will The Next Fool Be / Twistin Up the Road No5: You're Worth It All / Story Monday Blues ----- I prefer direct Bank Transfer but you can pay by Paypal either Friends & Family or add the normal 4% fee. 8. Hi there, selections of quality tracks below. The Cheaters - Call A Cheater / JoLo (101) VG+ wol This is a very very rare San Antonio 45, there are only five instances of this on Popspike, and its no where on the net other than a basic Disogs entry. They had two more releases on this label, all go for big money. This is VG+, plays with crackle throughout, but its fine to my ears. Came frrom the collection of Chris Varhelas, a top San Antonio collector at Austin Record Show in about 2010. This is just the sort of track Tim Brown puts up for Auction these days. If you want an MP3 happy to send one over to you, I guarentee, you will want it.. Edwin Starr – Headline News / Ric Tic WD Radio Stamp, Very cool demo EX++ I'm asking a bit more for this because of what this demo looks like, its a cracker for any collection. Plain WD are cool, but radio station copies just look the biz. Jackey Beavers - You Can Bring me all Your Heartaches / Grand ~ Land EX++ Currently on Tim Brown's auction starting at £200, Quality track. Cookie Scott & The Chevelles – Mislead / Prince Shell – Mislead / ORR WD EX++ Some say this track lives in the shadow of 'I Don’t Care' I don’t think that’s the case anymore, 'Mislead' is a good as that track. James Davis - Ain't it Great / DUKE Demo EX++ Cheapie but such a great mid-tempo track, there is another version that has girlie backing. got both on MP3., you can have those with your purchase... Larry Williams - I'm The One / Okeh Demo EX++ Absolute Stormer, fabulous looking Okeh Demo, flip is a brill track as well. Shirley Wahls - That's How Long (I'm Gonna Love You) / Why Am I Crying / King WD EX++ Two sublime sides from Shirley, Distributor sticker on this demo too, looks great. Ronnie North - I've Gotta Hear It From You / Holly EX++ love this track, it’s a frantic and really rhythmic Texas dancer, this is a very, very good Northern Soul 45, rare as well. ----- I prefer direct Bank Transfer but you can pay by Paypal either Friends & Family or add the normal 4% fee. Postage: £4.50 for 1st Class signed for (Within the UK) anything over a ton via Special Delivery, £8.00 (Insured upto £500) within the Uk. * If you are outside the Uk, just tell me where and I'll quote you via PM. Cheers Malcolm
  9. Like most on here I bought 45's from John, and from what I have heard him say on a certain film on you tube, is he wasnt actually interested in being known to mainstream culture... I think that's correct...
  10. Shirley Wahls - That's How Long (I'm Gonna Love You) / Why Am I Crying / King Anybody know the right price for this on demo? Thankns in advance Malcolm
  11. Hi there, selction of mainly northern, some deep, and some just DAM good 45's. The Coronadas – You Can Do Me Some Good / Bright Star EX+ £80 Very nice sweet midtempo track on Chicago label, I don’t know whether they were from Chicago, but they made great music. The Du-Ettes - Please Forgive Me / One-One-Derful EX+ dh right on the spindle £20 Another Chicago Label oldie, what I like about these ones, is after not playing this in an age, this sounds well cool. Candace Love – Wonderful Night / AQUARIUS M- £20 Classic oldie, ALWAYS sound fresh, if you dont have it, here is a nice copy.. The Carltons – I’m a Man / Keep on Hoping ARGO DJ COPY EX++ £20 **HOLD ** Group of the highest order imo, all their tracks are fabulous, this is my favourite. Jackie Washington - Why Won't They Let Me Be / Vanguard (Picture Cover) EX++ £40 Very Clean and great track Produced by Trade Martin. Quality record this is… Dee Clark – I Can’t Run Away / She’s My Baby / Constellation EX++ £25 Tad off mint, absolute spanker of a copy, really nice example, great Chicago record, one of my favourites by him on this label. Johnnie Mae Mathews - Baby What's Wrong / Here Comes My Baby / BLUE Rock EX+ dh £20 First one on this label I think, and a cracker, both sides are exceptional from Johnnie Mae. Thomas Henry - Someday / SPAR DJ Copy Ex ++ £75 Rare on DJ Copy, and a track I keep buying back, it’s a good one. Solomon Burke – Suddenly / Atlantic Issue (Vinyl) dh EX++ has a few light marks, nice copy. £30 Totally underrated track imo, this really is a gem of record from Solomon Burke. Janit And The Jays - Without A Reason / Hurting Over You Boy / HI DJ Copy EX++ £20 Two very deep and very very good sides. Styrene Copy, nice and clean both play and label. The Soul Sisters - Think About the Good Times / Sue VG++ bit of label rub & swol, £15 Cracker, the vinyl on this 45 is dull, like allot of Chicago presses... Magnificent Men - By the Time I Get to Phoenix / Single Sided Audio Disc 10" Capitol Acetate Recorded (2-16-68) EX+++ £105 **SOLD ** Great Jim Webb song of course. This doesn't have 'Tired of Pushing' on the flip. Wade Flemmons - Slow Motion / Walkin by the River / 7" Universal Recording Acetate (1959) for the VeeJay Label. EX+++ £85 Early one from Wade, nice acetate, comes in a plain brown sleeve, same cat number on this one as the 321 VJ release, but has 59-1090 / 59-1088 on the acetate which is different that the vinyl release, Make of that what you want. 14. Bloody Hell, Gene Woodbury, start bidding at a grand £250 just five maybe six, seven or so years back... I'm sure somebody might explain this all again to me again, but I don't get it. I'm sorry but you would be F*&^$%^^&* Stupid to pay over a grand for that... There, Ive said what you are all thinking.. ban me from Soul Source !! lol
  15. Haven't posted anything in ages... here are some beasties in the night, first is 25lb, second was 27lb common.
  16. thats a fair and balanced reply Dave, but as you point out, comms hasnt been their strong suit, who knows...
  17. Cant buy a record Ive never heard, where could I hear this Red Lane?
  18. Hi Glyn, Ive not heard anything else since Lizzie posted above in early Sept. I get what Lizzie said, it sounds like a really hard situation. But, if you dont keep people up to date, and don't send something that they purchased, what ever the reason, thats really bad, and could be construed as theift. I have no idea, I have most probably lost my money, but that will be the first and last time I buy from from Brewerytown Records.
  19. ahh, missed it again! all gone... you're right though, I wont pay a greedy bastard off Discogs, I'll just listen the MP3 I've had for years... whos / where is Fish Chalkey? I cant see this on First Experience web site...
  20. thanks for this Owd Codger, I always flick past this Lp, I never listen to it. I will now
  21. When frank Wilson gets played it makes my toes curl a bit. This, is... urrrr , a different type of feeling, to be honest I've never felt this one before...
  22. Cheers Russ, good to know it's been spun out a bit, it's brilliance has been acknowledged !! be good to find out whether he and his group did anything else thats comprable to 'LITW' cause I'd buy that straight away!
  23. Nearly qualifies, its kinda half spoken.... and this of course one from Diane Jenkins
  24. Thats right, it is pretty rare mis-spelt. Ive no idea how many were prodcued, but I guess the miss spelling was at a single pressing plant? which is why there are not that many with that label in circulation... as to the exact numberrs, I couldn't say... but here is my old copy with Map design and spelt correctly.
