  8. Mell Britt 2nd Issue / re Issue / bootleg, what ever you want to call it has always fetched 20 quid, I was told it was pressed at monach, and was pressed on styrene, and in far better sound quality on vinyl!! I don't own many re issues or boots, but maybe its something about this release. I treasure my vinyl copy which I paid a fiver for... I would also never sell my boot of Trade Martin, too many memories of collecting when I really did not have any money, but then back then you could get most 50-100 quid records for a tenner or a fiver...!! Carver discs imo, just aint got any soul, if you know what I mean.. Mal By the way Nev, cheque went this morning mate.. Chers

  19. You would think by using the title 'The return of Northern Soul' you would asssume some things had changed? hey you always start with a paragraph of History, set the scene and all that but he might mention current sounds, venues and people? I never went to Wigan, and this article means buggar all to me... loads of folk my age, late 3ts early 4ts probably went to the 100 club as their main national nighter, so to go on about the Wigan casino is just not representative... And who's bored senseless about hearing about kenny' Burrells silly expensive single, I know I am... hey Terry why not talk about Tommy & The Derby's??? Frederick Hymes or influence of the funk scene these days...music that people actually listen to????? look I'm a fan of it all, Love oldies, the images of wigan and the general history; the records, well they are all old records so to make a distinction is kinda silly really, but any old fart can write about events 30 or so years ago. All I'd like to see as a reader is something I didn't know about the soul scene, hey its back but its changed!!! shock horror!!!! Mal.C.
