  2. You would think by using the title 'The return of Northern Soul' you would asssume some things had changed? hey you always start with a paragraph of History, set the scene and all that but he might mention current sounds, venues and people? I never went to Wigan, and this article means buggar all to me... loads of folk my age, late 3ts early 4ts probably went to the 100 club as their main national nighter, so to go on about the Wigan casino is just not representative... And who's bored senseless about hearing about kenny' Burrells silly expensive single, I know I am... hey Terry why not talk about Tommy & The Derby's??? Frederick Hymes or influence of the funk scene these days...music that people actually listen to????? look I'm a fan of it all, Love oldies, the images of wigan and the general history; the records, well they are all old records so to make a distinction is kinda silly really, but any old fart can write about events 30 or so years ago. All I'd like to see as a reader is something I didn't know about the soul scene, hey its back but its changed!!! shock horror!!!! Mal.C.

  18. not wanting to take you all back to the negative, but anybody know Auntie thuds on Ebay? I've bought off him on and off over the years, every time I do I get a bad feeling about it, anyhow he finally gave me my first non payment strike today, so my 100 % feedback has been scratched so to speak..... He decided not to listen to me what so ever, I said if had not got the payment I had posted, cause he no longer uses Pay pal... I'd send again its only 20 dollars, he ignored that and just used Ebay's reminder and final unpaid strike mechanism after getting blunt but cordial email from me... what can you do? mal
  19. Tony Reynolds at the Outrigger used to always end with Verdelle Smith - Piece of the sky... I have loved that track ever since.. I was talking about enders to a friend the other day but from the early House scene in B'ham, we loved the Hummingbird circa 89 / 90 and things like Chris Rea - Josephine was a big ender back then, along with a host of other records you would never had though would be spun... The ender has a place on every scene in its own right, and I recon if you like one you will most likely like the others if you get my meaning...The Andrew Weatherall Remix of James's - Come Home was also big at the Bird..... Personally though Marva josie and walter Jackson from the 100 Club are a perfect example, but I cant help loving the fifty or so others that come to mind.. Mal
  20. London Paper carried a column in tonight's issue (Mon 4th) States Carl Barat (Dirty pretty Things) singer is to team up with Ronson on the theme tune... Also Stars Rhys Ifans...just watched him in kevin and Perry last night, Hilarious swigging liquor through his eye! Eye Ball Pete in fact.. They will want to cast all the 'On Scene Luvies' of course , You all know who you are!!! Moi X
  21. ROOSEVELT & SEVEN C'S RONDO 1118 WE WERE ALWAYS SWEETHEARTS / BLACK CAT £125 I don't understand this one, on Rondo.. then the title of the side, forward slash / black cat? so which is it and how much? Mal ignore this, the penny has dropped.. m
