  8. Think Chalky might be your man on this one, He has the mother of Databases I'm told, all the stuff you can never remember, at the touch of a button..!!! On the subject of info, I just gave in after years of ignoring it, and bought john Manships price / boot guide, no 5.... it's brill but straight a way I noticed he missed allot of national releases such as Belaires on palmer / UA, and quite a few boots that I'm aware of also missing, saying that some originate from Jamacia so its hard to tell what is and is not legit.. suppose I should email in .. m
  9. there you go, the true identity Nosmo king... I'll find the tape and get the info for you all, Kev Roberts and Richard interviewed this guy about Pye, and his involvement... good stuff. mal
  10. Hi Gene, The Guy from Pye records who put this over to Richard at the Casino chatted about this on Richard's radio show some years ago, I have it on tape if you want it, Basically a Wigan Anniversary show. Anyhow the guy at Pye was fooled into thinking it was a new Northern sound by his co workers at the label, when in fact it was a b side of a Pye Pop single, so he put it over to Wigan, it fooled them, went massive and Nosmo actually went to a nigher to hear it played, he was said to be made up!!! as to who Nosmo actually was, they never mention that, only that he went to the wigan... There is allot more but its on the tape.. See you next week.. Mal

  16. and the blurd below: An unlicensed worker, Charles G. Cave, cut the legs with an electric saw without consulting relatives. Mr Hines' widow has said his legs had been cut off between the ankle and calf and put back in the coffin, but the document didn't detail exactly what happened. Evidence also has been turned over to criminal investigators, but prosecutor Duffie Stone didn't return a message Tuesday. Under South Carolina law, destroying or desecrating human remains is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Mr Hines, 60, died in October 2004 of skin cancer, and his family picked out a standard-sized casket at the funeral home. His wife, Ann Hines, said her husband's body was only shown from the chest up at his funeral. And no one suggested a longer casket. Ann Hines said rumors about what happened to her husband's body started spreading soon after he was buried. Hines, an albino black man with several modest hits in the 1970s as a soul and funk guitarist with J. Hines and the Boys, was well-known in the town of 3,700 people. He became a preacher later in his life, playing his guitar during services at the church he built and on a nearby Christian radio station until his death. The widow threatened to sue Cave Funeral Home and the business agreed to settle out of court as long as she did not tell anyone how much she received. Ann Hines said workers never told her what happened or apologised. Authorities eventually caught wind of the rumour, leading a funeral service board investigator and county coroner to exhume Hines' body. The board also fined Cave $500 and ordered him to pay $1,500 for the investigation.
  17. Anybody pick up on the article / Obit on a Soul singer from South Carolina, James Hines? The Metero ran a column this morning about the Undertaker who shortened (sawed off his feet at the Calf ) the 6ft, 7in Soul Singer to get him in a regular size coffin, the family obviously noticed at the funeral that the coffin was a foot or so short and the body has since been exhumed and the Undertaker ordered to foot the bill and has since been closed... You could not make that up could you.. strangest story I've heard in a long while.... Anybody know any of this mans music?
