  1. Hi all, been listening to a couple of Richard Searling's shows from 2002, one show especially that was broadcast just before the rarest of the Rare 7, nighter in manchester.. anyhow I'd like to know whether any of the following tracks have been made available on vinyl or CD since then, as I' like to be able to play them on 45 in the house, so here goes: * Andy Rix was playing an Inst called the - Detroit Rhythm section which was big at the 100 club and Nostradam in Leicester Sq.. * he also played an up-tempo dancer from Faye Hill & the Hill-ettes, sorry did not catch the title of that * Shifty played Clara Hardy - Its You Acetate (No Idea if that was a cover-up or not, or just a one off Acetate) * Arthur willis and the Soulful Dynamics - The Hurtin is over / Mars La Tour (so still the same 2-3 known copies??) Other tracks played which are of interest that have now become available, well they are known and turn up if you have the cash, The Shaddows - Together again which had been about for a year or so at that point, Shifty bought the first copy, and said dean Anderson had it covered up, another biggie, Tommy and the Derby's - Dont play the role which was covered at the time by Butch; and a great Acetate from Sydney Barnes called Danger Zone, which is said to be in the collection of Dave Flynn.. Adey played the Devonnes - Do the Gittin up, which became available as a 100 Club Anniversary 45, a couple years later, and the brill Larry Banks - Oooh it Hurts me, which will be released on Kent Select on the 31st of this month, its taken some time but I'm there now!!! really looking forward to the next clutch of Kent 45's!!! Shifty played Carol Woods - Heartbreaker on Perfecto 7, which he announced as being a newie at the time, seems it had been known in the 7ts and played at the Mecca? well thats what the bloke who sold me mine said anyway.. all in all a great show, and fabulous music..... Cheers & thanks in advance.. Mal.C.
  2. over used term I reckon, that said I suppose you could say margie Joseph - One more Chance could be the archetypal example of Crossover, now that aint hard to listen to is it? Mal.C.

** For Sale ** Bobby Patterson - If you Hadn't Slipped up and Got Caught / Contempo UK Issue 1977 Mint- Cond - £12 U Pay Post. One of the Gems on Contemo records, this came out on Granite in the US, and I'm only selling my copy cause I just bought a Granite Issue. Pay what you like for BIG records, this is probably classier, more soulful, and its a cheap one.. Cheers Mal.C.
  8. I recall Mal C. raving over it at the time and as far back as 2006 he posted a thread in the Wants section requesting a copy to purchase. Did anything come of that Mal? Oh and by the way - hey up Mal long time no speak/email/communicate. Sorry 'bout that. ----------- Hi Derek, yes a happy ending, got one for something like $35 Usd from Japan soon after, and I've been after the other titled version (Dick & The Deamonds) ever since, never seen one.. and never seen another jesse James either, must be quite rare... I did some more work on Musette, which was posted on her some months ago, anyhow there has been more since if your doing another Shades.. Mal.C

  12. Richard's last label was fab, The releases here though, well why would I bother? have half a dozen re issues on these titles already?? if you don't have the dosh for an orig Mel Britt you buy the 7ts boot with the white ring right?? Mal.C.
  13. Was going to post on this also, your all right, shed loads of VG and VG + copies flying out of the states right now.... Pat Lewis however, you never see it... regards parliaments, I' not that bothered about demo vs Issue, long as it plays fine I'm happy.. prices are deffo coming down though, I understand people wanting at least what they paid for the bigger tracks but the amount of people out there are buying less, allot less, and the quicker the market reacts to this the better I reckon, DEALERS!!! your 45's are worth less in todays market, so start ,listing them at affordable prices pls.. Mal.C.
  14. Blimey, bought mine for $5 usd... does it really fetch 50 quid? M
  15. Not got the Kent CD, but the different version came out on one of the LP's, think it was soul spin, or Soul Destroyers.. one of the two. Mal.C
  16. I've used these in the past, had all the different cleaning Liquids etc.. recently I discovered the best thing I've come across for cleaning 45's, Baby's Wet wipes!!! I kid you not, the cheapo Tesco variety have just enough soap solution them to make a difference on every 45 I cleaned, and that included styrene which had what looked like bad dirt in the grooves. seriously they cost nothing for a pack of eighty, called Tesco: my baby's Ultra Soft Cloth wipes, In a blue packet.. Happy cleaning!! Mal.C.
