  1. Open Source, as in free? Used to use MixMeister, but they never upgraded from 32 to 64 bit meaning my new Mac would not run Mixmeister. Do you have a link? Malc
  2. Yes I think it was, a club with alot to answer for! Played 'Pure' last night, and got all excited, it was massive that summer wasn’t it, you could not go anywhere without hearing it, was on every cassette tape, in every car, on every motorway, every weekend ! laughing Ok, returning the cabin back to the Soul side...two of the many Fontella classics... All Fontella's sides for Paula are brilliant, I especially like this one.
  3. A little Artistic License but it was nice notion for about 10 minuets..

  5. Cheers Ken, and thanks guys. Ken I found a video on YT, of a guy called Ralphie D being interviewed, in fact he's all over the net, and I should have recognised him with my house head on. This chap was a resident at Odyssey 2001 Disco, Brooklyn, in 1977? Same guy? What's interesting here, for me at least, and I'm not saying this is the same guy, but this chap states he had a certain release on NU Groove Records, 'Major Problems - Overdose' a classic house track, has echos of 'GTO - Pure' for those of you who know that record. This all might be a BIG Stretch to be honest given his age, but you never know, if Toni Basil can do it!
  6. Thats a great track, like that allot... nice one...
  7. I have been listening to this over the weekend, Ralphie D - We Let Go Of A Beautiful Thing / 20th Century. Can’t find any other releases by 'Ralphie D' does anybody know who this guy was? I haven’t researched the name David Appell, who appears in the writing credits, maybe Ralphie D was a moniker for David? I also can't make my mind up, whether he is a black or White singer, but either way this is a very good 45, be good to find out more about who he was and whether he recorded anything else.
  8. like Wolfy allot

  13. Wesley Paige is very overlooked, his 'Ive got to find out for Myself' is very good, and also came out on Columbia. He had a few on Rojac, 'Blame it on Your Love' is a serious deepie, and the flip of that 45 (see scans) 'You Turn me Around' I always rated. How about, The Whispers - I Cant See Myself Leaving You, a very good 45 by them, and by chance I might have one in my sales box ...

  15. I'm a gluten for anything Brunswick, and here is a track that is very well known, it's been on Kent comps, and CDs in the past, but what a record. like every self respecting soul fan, I LOVE! anything Jean Wells did, especially her Calla sides One artist that I think gets overlooked is Jean DuShon, she had such a distinctive voice, very breathy, but when she gave it some, my golly she was good, how about 'Second Class Lover'? and what about 'What Now My Love' that track nearly runs away from her, right on the edge, just out of reach...
  16. Great record, and Soul Sam spin in the ealy 8ts, he played the long intro version, the one you linked there is the short version...
  17. Hi folks, anybody got a copy of The Shadows - My Love Has Gone / USA, demo or Issue, must be clean EX++ state label and play Cheers Malc
  18. Forgot I have a UK demo of Chris Montez, stamped January 66... Just a nice thing to look at. Malc
  19. How many copies do you know on that one Stanley, Pete Smith had it twice, he sold it to Mick Smith, and back again, after that I lost track of that copy, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen / heard of another, obviously there must be others, some plant somewhere pressed it, and given it's MGM I'd expect the run would have been a min 500?
  20. Didn't somebody do a T-shirt with a Cat and a size ten boot, relating to 'Kenard - What Did You Gain by That' at Stafford? Obviously a one off, Ive heard about it, but never seen it, this is the kind of thing you want...
  21. 22. a work of genius :-)
  23. Tony Hatch wrote 'Call Me' it was released on Petula Clark in 65, then on Chris Montez I think in 66... then every man and his dog recorded it thereafter. No idea when Eddie Bishop did his version for ABC... Nice to have a Tony Hatch song in the same thread as Edward Hamilton
  24. Hi folks, Just another single 45 for sale today. Chollo Rivera & Latin Soul Drives - I Could Never Hurt You Girl / COTIQUE £95 EX+ Brilliant Midtempo track, sweet and very soulful, I could listen to this 45 all day long.
