  1. always thought Robbie Lawson - Burning Sensation was a very very short, I don't own a copy, anybody know how long? Mal.C.
  2. its a funny release, there is also a plain Blue vinyl release that gets described as rare, But never seen it as Audio art.. Mal.C.
  3. any chance I can hear it Keith? I'm not swayed by the butch connection btw...just I'm not into hero worship... Mal.C.
  4. Cheers dave, yeah got the double LP, just want it on 12 inch, oh well..
  5. BLAZE-SWEETER THAN THE DAY BEFORE anybody know whether this track made it onto a 12 inch release? Got the Album (Spiritually Speaking) many moons ago but I need it loud and proud.. Mal.C
  6. I had the very same experience on that track but at that do at the Q Club in Birmingham he (Edwin), Steve Mancha, JJ Barnes did, maybe 98,99, cant remember the date...His set was awesome but Time lifted off, just Edwin standing in front what seemed like a wall of BRASS, just hit you like a train... absolutely Mental experience.. Best 100 club, been 3 or 4 occasions, dancing till the very end with Buey at the Anniversary in 2009, Clara Thomas evoked a hands in the air from everybody at the exact same moment, last hour at Cleethorpes, the Dells make sure, I was close to tears, But the most memorable was Ady playing Gettin to me on normal nighter night... after announcing Ian Levene said he would have put it back, you could feel the unity in club, fabulous experience... mal.C
  7. I'm after his Chopper 70 track on federal, if you can listen to that one, driving 45...
  8. Blimey thats gone up in price, paid 15 quid for mine, a very long time ago, but a big difference there... Mal

  10. never saw this thread before, thanks Robb, On these Sound lab acetates somebody on here said there were a few come on the market at the time I bought mine, wonder if anybody can cast any light on those discs? Mal
  11. Yeah I had my suspicions on this disc, he had 2 x 45's and a 10 incher he sold Pete smith, somebody on here had the other 45 which I think was being played out at the time?? m
  12. Here's some that I have, Blue rock Acetates from Dee Dee Warwick, and Renaldo Domino, Craig Moerer said the Domino Acetate came from a Chicago DJ's collection and he thought it was a single one done by his Manager. The Sound Lab one is a reference for the Jimmy delphs released 45 on Dssi, its deffo not him, I have no idea who's singing..plus the sleeve with lots of info, was told Ron Murphy was dead, I suppose he would of known Finally, a publishers acetate from that lot Jimmy Radcliffe's son was selling some years back, black Patch productions or something...unreleased track by Barbara English.. Jerry Ragovoy Has Died

Blimey, he wrote and produced timeless music, especially liked the Garnet Mimm's tracks that he did.. and of course Lorraine Ellison... there is a great story in the Kent CD on him about Jimmy Hendrix partying in his recording studio... a great loss.. Mal.C.
  14. Not easy to add much to a thread like this, other than to say I personally buy anything, if its good, if its expensive, I generally wait till I get one at a price I'm prepared to pay, otherwise its on the i-pod, or Pete Smiths old i-pod... cheers Pete.. I think after a while you start to see what are really rare records and what are over proced common records, I'm lucky in that I kept allot of the cheaper older stuff that I paid 10 quid for back in the late 8ts early 9ts, and I would feel a tad pissed at paying some of the prices I see on stuff like Tammy Wayne, Lorraine Rudolf, Ruby Winters etc etc, so I feel your pain there Tommo.. That said, shop about, there is always something new, something not allot of others are chasing, take me buying the Soul Injection - Stay of the moon for $10, on Ebay no less... always bargins to be had Tommo if you can be bothered to look... that's what i think.. Mal.C.
  15. Seems some folk cant agree on what Crossover actually is, so here's your five as I see it... Margie Joseph - One More Chance Paul Walters - I know what love is all about Peggy Scott - Things Have More Meaning Now The Blues Busters - Love is the Answer Rhythm Machine - Whatcha Gonna Do if there was a sixth allowed??? Margie Joseph - Come on back to me lover; or maybe I make two by Margie count as one? Mal.C.
  16. Used to knock about with Mark White, haven't seen him in ages.. I'd love to get in touch again if you do speak to him.. Mal.C. Oh use your eyes, he just replied above... doh!! I'll pip you an email mark... that is you right? M

  18. I'd say at a guess, although both have different writing credits etc, they are two versions of the same song...
  19. I thought this might be Lennie, or Reggie.....who knows... regards implements, Listen to both of them, and you tell me... m
  20. very happy, just got this on demo in the post this morning, and notice the writing credits read : (Satin:Smith:Smith) Obviously we all know the various versions out there, Nate Evans, James Phelps, John Edwards, Magnetics, and the brilliant but slightly different titled Implements - Look over your shoulder... so then, Satin is almost certainly Reggie Satin, both from Chicago, I wonder if anybody can confirm that and it looks like his is the first version of this great song?? Mal.C
