  1. lately I've seen allot of tracks on a certain thread on here, and the sales section obviously, and have gone straight to eBay to check, in all but one instance, the records were offered well over what you could pay for on just eBay, that's without searching around dealers sites.. that said I still buy allot from people on here... Its plain to me that most people on here charge nearer the top end for their records, not surprising when allot of us have paid the 'Going Rate', but hey I'd never buy a record from John Manships auction, sorry John your way too expensive..but I do like to check what my records are going for generally, and when I come to sell them all off I will offer on here at healthy inflated prices... and round we go.. 2. My golly that's a great track, took me an age to get an Eunice Collins, had no idea its actually been played out.. BIG record for Miss Goldie ex Sydney now residing in Melbourne, she used to hammer that on a radio show she did every Friday, that would have been 2004/5... Mal.C

Not sure what you mean, but I'm asking has Ady put it out, or does Kent have plans to, obviously allot of tracks have a life a total exclusives, but then Kent have put them out, the Ravins - Your Love Is What I Want comes to mind... I'm just aware there must be loads of tracks I've not heard, maybe there is another 100 Club classics CD here..

Obviously Ady is on here and would be the person to answer this, but I'm sure others like me might be interested. Basically I don't go to the 100 club anymore, haven't really attended regularly since 2003, although I make an effort to go to Cleethorpes and the anniversary once a year. There seems to always be new records being played at the club, but outside of the Kent select and anniversary releases, and what I can glean from on here, I've no idea whats been new in the last five years.. but I'd love to cause I'm surly missing out on some great music. Can anybody give me a steer on some of the 100 club biggies, and with regard to the recent RCA material, is there any way I can get that on vinyl, or CD? Does Kent have plans to release any of that, or is it already in the pipe line for a future release, or have I already missed stuff being made available to Joe public... Thanks in advance... Mal.C.
  6. Ralph Graham - Differently LP / Sussex (inc. Aint no Need) Vinyl M- Cover is sound just has a slight bit of water damage at the top, which has not broken through, if you know what I mean. Great LP with the original version of this song, miles better that Skye. £20 You pay post. Mal.C.
  7. Reason i got it on uk stateside, just missed out on a green nz copy on the bay, that would have been nice, that said aussie and nz records are pretty badly recorded in the main, except for W&G discs out of Melbourne, festival stuff is allot lesser recordings than counterparts in other countries. Uk stuff is a tough as old bots and the sound quality is next to none, but then you all know that.. m
  8. I licensed allot of News Int content into this, Headlines, pages from the stable of newspapers that kind of thing. Looks to be a really good doco, there was allot of praise for the director Kevin Macdonald.
  9. I've always liked 'He Dont Belong to Me' check the writing credits, Simpson, Armstead... now we know why... Fabulous track... Mal.C ahh, just realised its the flip to 'Hurry'

Yellow Uk Demo on London silly money, £300 plus I reckon, Stateside still silly, 250 something like that, Blk UK Issues there are loads about, I paid Pete Smith 30 for a spanker with a original sleeve couple months ago. mal
  11. Not anymore Don. Laughs
  12. Apologies, I know what you mean about her voice though, and I agree. I just especially like this version, maybe because it's so different than the others I'm aware of, basically for being the only female one perhaps? I have to say I was surprised about Paul and Marks thumbs down, very tongue in cheek of course...but hey one man's judy street is another mans Garland Green, or what ever the expression is... its all good. well maybe not all of it... 13. Lets not get into silly buggars, we speak about all sorts of music on here, especially 6ts, and folk on here have discussed Sandy's music lots of times... So Its relevant. As for pants and earbuds, which makes me chuckle, chaps your prizes are in the post... Mel.B

Always wondered about the obscure label MJR Records, which the only release I have, is the utterly brilliant : Patience Valentine - Our Love (A special Blending). Anyhow was playing The Worlds Funkiest Band - When your alone yesterday and noticed some additional text on the flip side which was very interesting. Says, Produced by Richards, Jefferson, McCarthy, for MJR . We Know Jefferson is Joey Jefferson the producer and label owner (Breakthrough), I think he may have even sang, but don't quote me. Anyhow his 7ts release of the Inspirations, that pink release it says Dist by California Gold Ind also, so that ties those two. This is the only ever mention of MJR I have ever seen, anybody cast any light on this anybody ever see another release on MJR Records? Sadly this kind of thunderbolt gets me very excited these days...I may need to get a life.. Mal.C
  18. that's right, I used to rep some of Jonas's material at PYMCA back in 2000/1, strange cause he always told me it was Sean at the 100 club..but hey. Sean's face was a peach, initially he was WTF are you on about, then I mentioned how much my clients might pay... happy days.. Mal
  19. Lock em, it the only way.. and then none of us can comment on what should be a simple exercise.. were all guilty.. m
  20. Blimey that number 84, has drive me to dispare, the one time it came up for sale recently, I did not have the money... GOD DAMM its a good one..reminds me of the famous Ted Massey tapes from the Old Vic, dark rainy nights in Wolverhampton lit with yellow street lamps and the entrance at the back of the car park... Pep's Mrs on the door... kinda what Northern soul is... Mal.C
  21. Ian if its for editorial use, then if your in there incidentally its really at the discretion of the Photographer / Medium its appeared in, and I mentioned earlier the various factors with regard to this, if its commercial, you need model release if your seen clearly, obviously you must be fully recognizable within the frame. So in answer to your question about tracing all recognizable people for commercial use, you would have to, and if you could not find them, these days editorial clients or the press would likely do some mac work to loose the person/s, or disclaim. I've had instances where incidental people have come forward, and we offered to pull the picture for future syndication, the image in question was at a Rave do at Shoom, and was licensed into a 3 pt series for Ch4 by Flame production called 'Pump up the Volume' all this chap eally wanted was cash and I ended up being pretty heavily threatened in the office by one guy, not nice... A happy related story... I worked for an agency called PYMCA long time ago, and I cleared images taken at the 100 club and various other soul nighters / weekenders for commercial use within Virgin Mega stores through out London. One very recognizable image was a certain person below, I wont mention his name; anyhow I knew him and approached him to sign a release form at the 100 club one night, for which my client paid a very nice 4 figure sum, he could not believe it, that much for doing, uuurrrr nothing.. laughs... and the picture since then has been on all sorts of places, CD's god knows what else... a happy ending, and I think one of the best images I've seen taken at a soul do... this is what its all about!!! Mal.C
  22. I know its got silly really, and thats due mainly to social media I think, the use and the abuse of. Mal
  23. Absolutely, If you take a photograph, thats your copyright, and thats yours unless you agree representation through an agent or 3rd party. This differs with moving footage; an example I give a lot of my clients being, a cameraman shooting a film for a major studio, well he doesn't own the copyright, the Company as producer / Director is assigned copyright, and the contract the cameraman has with the studio will also have a clause stating the cameraman retains no copyright in the work. In regard to the very entertaining clip, the chap was within his rights, if you take a picture on public land, your within your rights to do so, if that image is used editorially the publisher may pixilate or obscure any identifying numbers or names or people, as not to invite legal action, obviously with the press the initial reason for the image might well receive legal action, but the treatment of the image is paramount if you want to say something which is deemed 'In the Public Interest'. In regard to people, again you retain copyright in all cases unless on private land or in some cases working for or in the pay of an employer. I had an experience at a soul night recently where a chap just got in front of myself and my wife took 4/5 frames and when I asked that he not do anything with them he told me it's my copyright, I can do what I want. I just let it go, I wasn't happy but he was within his rights, that said if an instance gets to court, images taken under duress will influence any ruling. My rule is be sensitive to people wishes, if they don't look like they want to be photographed, don't photograph them. If they are incidental within a frame, there are lots of options open to you if you're using editorially within this web site for instance, Blurring, cropping out, Pixalating etc..If used commercially you need approval, or Model Release as its called within the media, and that involves a fee paid onto the model. After that there maybe all type of approvals you may need to seek and that falls under the constrains of a commercial licence. Mal.C.
