  1. its a hard one mate, does not come up much, took me ten years to get mine, and I'd never sell it, if your feeling disposed to 2nd issues or dare I say bootlegs, it did come out in nice quality on a rare soul ep in the 8ts... cost ya twenty quid.. mal
  2. Got one for sale at the mo, orig is styrene, never been booted as far as I've heard,. Mal

Absolutely great an underplayed track, got a US Kapp demo so don't need this one Johnny Thompson - Given up on Love / Jay-Tee £60 Vinyl M- Label see below scan but its suffered water damage on both sides, doesn't detract this a mighty great Crossover track.... The Spoilers - Something about You / GMC Records VG++ £15 Great Northern and pretty cheap for a quality record. 6. is rick sheppard, fool on the street on Gordy? if so I have one. m
  7. looks good, I liked the tooth on their web site that had sold for £23k.. OUCH!!!
  8. paid £200 for my VG+ copy, year or so ago.. M
  9. Not to my knowledge... should be on Vinyl, and that purple label..
  10. Lorraine Ellison - I Dig You Baby / also covered by Mercury stable mate Jerry butler, in fact he covered shed loads for filler on allot of his LP's for them. I'm not saying this is outright bad, but I do think it should have remained Lorraine's own as it were, enter some bright spark who says it was originally recorded by XXXXX... mal.C
  11. Hippo and Ady both audition for the role of Benny from Cross roads..
  12. absolutely brilliant, what soul source should be about.. how about Mick Smith and Che..
  13. well just sold mine to a mate after posting on here for £200.. so there you go. Mal.
  14. sent you an email mate, you have not yet read it I see...got a minty one so its simply about the price, Mal.C
  15. how much is this actually worth? m
  16. Do you know what? you should simply every year look at the records outside of the initial 500, you don't need to reiterate it for filler, and that approach allows a series of books to grow organically, you add how ever many new records come into or back into vogue as the case generally is in the past year,or how ever long, and explore the unknown things which I'm sure are in your collection, or have been at one time or another... I'd buy a book like that, as a collector, or dancer, or fan, something looking at trends, using the music or specific releases is a great way to chronicle Northern soul, throw in the new venues don't bother with endless lists, just good editorial content, good photography, guest contributors, get these people who have done the dancing on the northern soul film involved, engage with as many newbies as you can as to what they like, and it becomes endless... and stop grovelling to people to buy your book, its not cool.. Mal.C
  17. I think all the Kent 45's are second to none personally, I have the Tommy Tates - If you got to love somebody release which really is a great sound, better than the Grapevine 45, probably even that the original which I think is styrene only... any excuse to mention that record basically...
  18. Remember some people i know from Birmingham, Jodie and Mickey, cant remember their surname... had a white demo in the late 9ts, only one I've ever gazed at, I suppose there are so few of those about you could trace every last one, I think they got that via Mick Smith, as they did allot of big records they had... m
  19. I bought the first and second editions of this book, the first was absolutely brilliant, and I love that book, and it was nice to get that all again in the second, but I have to say I'm simply not convinced Kev that you have done enough in the later editions to justify the asking price, and I mean that without malice, which seems to be something you attract. This is a great book, but you need to write another great book to follow it, and that has to be a new idea, a new book, cause this just seems like a con to me... Any how I found a good use for the second edition since then, Its now a book end propping up a shelf. Looks nice but there is no reason to read it cause I have the first. Mal.C.
  20. Just avery friendly push, folk on here will dig the flip ' Whatcha Gonna Do' but hey killer double sider!! Worth every dollar!!
  21. Just bought this, after chasing it for an age, it's a push but.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ralKoh0hK-A m
  22. Think this also falls into the category nicely, still need this track badly!!
  23. Killer beat Ballad that, there is another good one on the label, Maybe Maybe Baby..the flip of giving up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0AsttQi_pw Mal.C
  24. Has anybody mentioned Tommy Hunt yet? the hold on track is different on the Atlantic release 45 to that on one of the early Kent LP's, cant remember but one is more of a beat ballad than an out and out ballad, I think.... anyhow they are all F*** Great... also add parade of Broken Heartaches to that list.. mal
  25. Probably get some abuse for this, but might I suggest Lulu - Leave a little Love, which is a real favourite at home, say what you like about Lulu, but she is some singer.. Mal.C.
