  1. get the cold blood version, far far better...
  2. your right it does, and strangely that was a tune that I think came from Craig Morer initially..
  3. they must have 5 or 6 play tracks on that LP, including the Great 'Graveyard Creep' which is a different and far better mix / cut to the Jet Stream 45 release.. which is credited to the singer, not the group....Mal.C https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-b3lfpqkw0 .
  4. they are great, and we all adore this song...But they're not the Impressions...
  5. My favourite from this show is Esther Philips.... Think she's deffo singing to this one. Laughs... wait there, where's the mic?
  6. dunno what you actually mean there mate, but he Uk chart release was not the original mix of this track, Sasha and others played it off the White label, which deffo emanated out of Eastern Bloc, I know this cause I bought it from there as it was getting its first plays... I'd think the 12' is pretty hard these days but not impossible. The chart release with the red poppy on the front was an inferior mix.. Mal.C
  7. This was originally a white label out of Eastern Bloc in Manchester, got played to death on the house scene, and the rest is History as they say... I'd ask around Manchester area as the original cut was the best by far. it's likely living in old collections... Sold my White Label years ago, wish I hadn't now.. mal
  8. got any aussie for sale? Mal
  9. I'll have to check pete, but the UK one I have sounds live, is this it, or earlier, and the same as the USA ABC release? Mal
  10. One of the singles is interesting, somebody said Unissued, or unreleased? Well, this did come out in fast and slow versions, the later on Ru Jac from Baltimore, so is this a third recording of this song by Winfield, or was the Fast version always an unreleased one? Winfield Parker - I Love You Just The Same Mal.C
  11. think that might be sold dude... m
  12. been after the Perry / Harmonics track for an age myself, its on an LP and Mercury 45, £150-£200 on the 45, but they seem to be hard to get in good condition as issued in Styrene, I've turned two down already.. LP, never seen it for sale as yet but its called INTRIGUE with soul also on Mercury.. I think this is the sort of sound, at a push I could see go big at the 100 club or something.. good luck Mal
  13. this may have been discussed, and sorry if its inappropriate Chalky on your thread, but what do people think, was the 100 club performance better than the Wilton?
  14. Thanks guys, really like the Normie Rowe version, but it's not the one, this allot slower pace, and as I remember, better... as I've said it was off an old tape from the 8ts, who knows....
  15. Yeah I thought milt greyson, but no, came from a tape from my rigger days, likely a tony renolds tune as he had tons of mos stuff, as I've said very slow version, with an organ throughout... Not heard it since the late eighties but a cracking version... Any help appreciated...m
  16. what was it?
  17. after a version of this classic song, But I cant for the life of me remember the artist, its a very slow, Mod type sound, has an organ through out, anybody got an ideas? malcolm
  18. Love the 'Food example' Marc.. it's very loaded subject this, all I'd like to say Is I expect to hear 'The Impressions - you ought to be in Heaven, every time I go out!! The only thing I don't like is what I call the yo yo effect, which basically means the DJ plays good dance record, we all run to the floor to give our all, followed by a 'Conway Twitty' record, and clears the floor, followed by another good dance record, followed by said 'Twitty' record, and the night becomes less a dance night and more a exercise in changing the channel on the tv... so the moral of my meander is, is if you are a DJ, keep it consistent, remember tempo, try to think about what record goes with what, don't yap over the records like that Terry Jones bloke and say no to Conway Twitty. keep it Real!!! Mal.C
  19. I cant remember that unissued acetate sold by clarkie some years ago, tommy *** - ******* anybody? m

  21. remember being at a party in north London in the 9ts, for one of the 100 club regulars and Nick and dawn Dj'd... I asked him about the shrine stuff and he handed me a pile of 10 or so records, all the big ones...first and last time I'll ever be in close contact with them I guess... it was quite a sight I can tell you. And I know were talking about the full set... M
  22. I got the reissue or Lookalike of this, and its first time I heard the flip, its really good.. better that Man o' man IMHO.. M
  23. there was a chap who lived in Brighton in the 9ts, Nick I think it was, Paul Sutton would remember his name, worked on the Oil Rigs, anyhow he was from Wolverhampton, I have strange sneaking feeling this may be him, as he had a massive stock of 45's buried away. I tried to contact Richard Domar quite recently, he only takes calls on a Tuesday I think, anyhow could not get through... I hope he gets better, but my god he is a miserable sod. M
