Thanks Gene, I'm looking for lesser known stuff, more in the mould of the Emma Rede / Malcolm Hayes cover, or original songs like the James Galt say... the Leonard Whiting is just right.. I have to say I never looked hard at my Oliver Norman, as I've already got that one on a pink Demo, so thats covered, the Donnie Elbert is great i'll grab me one of those.. m

got a little collection going of UK recorded and released tracks, Susan Maughan being my most recent addition, so add that to Emma Rede, James Galt, and half a dozen others, can folk suggest some good ones to pick up, I love Beat Ballads so you cant suggest enough of those... Mal.C

I Think I May Have Found Some Lost Archive Tapes
Mal C replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
you can get it cheaper than that, the way to do it is offer it to the BBC and get them to do it, then they supply you with it on Disc.. they pay for post also... I speak with the BBC News desk and stills guys most days, so have asked them for a contact over in the archive, I'll pip it to you pete, better than going through the web site. m -
all done, But no questions on Soul what so ever.... I'm perplexed, Bored, Obsessive, Neurotic, Devoted, Fanatical, Carless... and so on.. Mal.C

i'll try to get you a contact in the archive Pete, bare with me. mal -
Maybe a slant, not discussed, but glaringly obvious.. Isn't the fate of Wigan the same of all the big clubs? either house or Soul, or what ever genre, I can list half a dozen House clubs that may not have grown as big, exclude the Hacienda of course, that were great for two years then limped along to a painful death, most kids, most people in fact generally really bare down for two years then naturally move on to other things, I think that time span is true in life for many things... Music wise the house scene also had its fair share of 'Footsie' records, and when the Altern 8 stuff and allot of the 'jungly stuff' really started coming in, allot moved on...so for a club like Wigan to have lasted so long, is certainly a wondrous thing, Must have been doing something right...!!!
