  1. Good man, Love paying buggar all for records that some pay loads for, that said Ive made some horrible mistakes over the years when Ive sold them on, but if you have not paid much in the first place, you dont loose much do you...? M
  2. Ok, so to an extent it's people in the know as it were.... so as to not end this thread prematurely with your knowledgeable reply Seb, would you say allot of these records circulate here in the within a small circle, and then with younger fans across Europe? M
  3. Seems to be lists every day of dare I say 'Funky' newies in the sale section.. well they are new to me on the whole...absolutely fine of course, just two points, pretty much always by new members, bar a few regulars, and secondly why do they all seem to cost in excess of £200 a pop...??? Split Evolution - Jumpstreet - Wasp, I know the label and its under the radar suppository, at £150.... Mmmm allot for a unknown thing me thinks, Black Sugar - Its too late, a bargain were told at well over £150 again.... Ive been buying tons of records of folk on here for years, and as Ive stated, allot of the above type stuff are totally new to me; I'm not talking a pop at our 'Funkier' brothers and sisters... but why do you charge so much for your records? Mal.C
  4. and me.... Ive bought a 'Casino Classics' 45 to fill in till I get one... m
  5. I did, I'll look, see who bought it...
  6. I dont think Ive ever heard anything that's beaten Brian Auger... and that video, Auger's 'Hammond' action is something else.. So this is a forward thinking tune, I know its down to taste thing, but If I paid my money to hear whats new, and I was getting this, I'd seriously think the DJ's were scrapping the barrel, its a 'oh, it a version of Brian Auger' side, which is mediocre at best.. Top side is a great Crossover track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHUP527txeg M
  7. I sold one a couple months ago for £80 I think... and mine was stone mint..I dont think its worth more than that, its does come up for sale quite regally.. Mal
  8. Does anyone think the Franciscans, Nora Lee, Antwans are "classics"? I thought the idea for this topic was to include consensus all time great soul, or Northern Soul, records.....don't think any of these would be so. ---------- Just go right ahead my friend, you be a blunt as you need to be... Mal.C
  9. Here you go, second tome in a week, as it has a Cyber man..
  10. Antwans is a good one, on I assume their own label 'Snawtna', god I had to concentrate to write that down 521 records is another maybe? one Soul 45 of note in Paul Waters, the rest are, well.... erm, not soul really, you might say R&B'ish, lots of Novelty 45's... Ive certainly not come across anything else that's as good as the Walters 45, and boy have I looked.. How about these, Margaret Glover on MAG, Majestic on Equator, Nora Lee on Westwood, Franciscans on JIMBO, The Phanton on Karisma.... Melvin Elling on Stretch perhaps, never seen another soul 45 on that label, Johnny Stewart on START, again just the one 45, and come to think of it, Dee Dee Warwick on HERD? I might be wrong but these all seem to 'just the one'... Mal.C
  11. your right Dave, strangely I had the rocket in My mind, but wrote the Dome... anyhow you were sprinting.... M
  12. remember this, there was a big furor at the Dome, about somebody who had somehow got into the system, I mean the cabling in some way, and was recording tracks, this may have bee the one that got recorded..? I think its a great dancer, we've all spent time Yalloping about to it at the 100 club... M
  13. Long time ago, there was an Acetate Craig Moerer put on evil-bay, I bid but lost out, Luckily for me Craig posts a good pic and sound files, so I've been able to keep the song. Its a great track, But I don't recollect ever seeing it on any of their LP's, or 45's, anybody confirm, is it unissued, or did it come out? Thanks in advance... Mal.C

  15. Remember Arthur playing it in Sydney in 2003, and we were all 'What the hell was that!!' its funny I'd not heard it at the 100 club, and I was a regular up until then.. eventually got mine from the Las Vegas chap when I was out there; this second press, I have seen scans that look like a weaker disc, I mean in colour of the label etc...but who's to say they weren't from this same batch, just with off colour labels... it happens.. Mal.c

  20. Sorry Dean, this isn't the most sensible of sales pitches... Always interested on records, we just need to know what they are before anybody can look to buy.... Maybe a list might solve this? Mal.C
  21. Blimey, worth allot, paid $20 usd for mine about ten years ago.. you can get her other Loadstone release cheap, which is maybe seen as not quite as good, but I think she goes for it on the other track more, 'Frown on her Face' is quite plaintive really against the other sides..deffo worth picking up, Personally I had to have both singles... Mal.c
  22. Somebody buy gene chandler, special track that, sublime even... Mal.c

  24. So your acetate the same as the CD release? I assume so.. if its different I'd be really interested in hearing it... Is it one of those Tim Brown had done to promote the CD, or are they from the assorted masters and what was discovered; reason I mention, is I had 'Happiness is here' Toby Lark from Dave Rimmer at the 100 club about that time, not an original Acetate as I later found out, but one that emanated from the Mill,,,,he even said he felt guilty taking the money off me... you live and learn... no matter I swapped it with John Manship soon after.. Yeah its very classy, sits next her released stuff very well, recorded in the same sessions as Grass is greener / need you like a baby etc...? Mal
