10 X Frankford Wayne: Original Philidelphia Int Rec Reference Acetates
Mal C replied to Mal C's topic in Record Sales
yeah they are a nice little collection of original acetates, I'd much prefer to keep them together, kinda makes sense, but if folk want to make me an offer on individual disc, id look at that, m -
Hi all, Nice selection of Original 10 Inch Frankford Wayne Reference dub acetates. These are all from 79/80, there are seven double sided acetates and three single sided acetates listed below. All are in spectacular condition, there is very little wear on the discs, a minute blemish here or there, but overall these are beautiful examples. I recorded them all last night, and the sound quality is second to none, I was really impressed with them, and I will supply all my sound files and the below scans to the buyer. They all come in their original manilla sleeves, complete with studio notes, and some have 'ENG's COPY' written on then. I'd assume they came from someone working at the Studio, or at the label? but I got them from an elderly Philly based collector. Musically, these represent the label at its best at the time, a mix of nice soulful dancers, one or two ballads, and some disco work outs thrown in, the Jones Girls side is really nice , as are the Billy Paul and Lou Rawl sides, Dexter Wansel is a real standout also. I wish to sell these together, so all ten acetates as a Job lot for £200, you pay post. Here are the sides: Archie Bell & The Drells - How Can I Archie Bell & The Drells - Show Me How to Dance Billy Paul - I Think I'll Stay at Home Today (Pt1) Billy Paul - I Think I'll Stay at Home Today (Pt2) Billy Paul - Love Buddies Billy Paul - Jesus Boy Dexter Wansel - New Beginning Frantique - Disco Dancer Frantique - Night People Like These The Futures - In Answer to your Question The Futures - Lets Dance Together The Jones Girls - I'm at your Mercy Lou Rawls - Heartaches Lou Rawls - Your My Blessing McFadden & Whitehead - I Know What I'm Gonna Do McFadden & Whitehead - Why oh Why The O'Jays - Get on Out and Party ---- Kind Regards, Malcolm

Little Richard Try Some Of Mine (Coral) But Which Country?
Mal C replied to Derek Pearson's topic in Look At Your Box
Most of the early Oz Coral releases are maroon, with silver print, but generally solid center, I'll check my Festival listing but thumb of rule with Aussie 45's is they will say Australia on them. -
Ray Jay And The Eastsiders - Love Doll / Roly Poly (Cotique)
Mal C replied to Themichael's topic in Record Wants
be interested in hearing this, just got into this label.. M -
Its such a loaded subject this, but I have to say I love Ian's Pod casts, they are great... and although some of what he says is wrapped up in the 'Struggle' he has with who ever... it makes for interesting listening in addition to the music. As for values, I agree, you should never mention value because its not about the music.. I hope he keeps on doing them, I for one will listen in... Mal.C

Been speaking to Glyn Hanford, who is on here, and was telling me about some Soul City hand written White Label 45's that he has, supposedly about 5 or so were done of most of the titles, or the better ones, and all written by Dave Godin himself. In fact Glyn remembers a mate of his getting a bunch of these from Godin back in the late 7ts? Glyn, maybe you can straighten out the above a bit, say who it was and when, but they are really interesting 45's on a classic label, I know Glyn wants more of them, so if anybody reading this feels inclined to sell or swap sure he would be interested. here's the scans... cool aren't they.. Dave really had such neat handwriting.. Mal.C

The Products sounds like Heat wave in the beginning... its good but as with allot of these really rare 6ts things, would you pay the money quoted £2k? I wouldn't, happy to have it on i-Tunes and a Nice scan of the original... you could get a Shirley Edwards on Shrine for £2k right? well there you go.... Panics, Its ok... its a bouncy 6ts song, Like the Sax best, vocals are a tad Light....give you £30 for it.. maybe you can pull some other 45's for the remaining £1970? Silka, I like allot... Just not that keen on the vocal... maybe it will grow on me, £35 for that one Ian.. does it have an Instrumental side? Bobby Richardson, Box std R&B track, but square, dunno £30 for that one...
