  2. Right, votes are tailing off now on this one, Gonna leave it open until tomorrow night (Wednesday), and publish the winner... which is as I type a neck and neck race between Tony Clarke and Del Larks...
  3. I can't help you with reading suggestions I'm afraid, but this is a very interesting subject, and the open Letter from Motown, I'd never seen that before, and of course they were a major player, so thats a normal industry level realease. Published here and there I assume? you dont mention the source? Had to chuckle, I'm sure most of you who read this did as well, so we sent the Hollies, Searchers, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Dave Clark Five the other way... yep, you can have them...

  5. That’s an interesting version, love Omar, he really pushes the envelope with the projects he gets involved with and songs he sings… on Golden brown, there was a mash up that came out a few years back. WS golden brown mashed with Take Five, which was really really good one

  12. Nope, they got to be exciting as Mello Souls, but only worth a fraction... I think 'Mercy Men - You Made it Thunder' is a credable one here, not as fast and manic as Mello Souls, not many are, but it's got that edge! and thankns @Dave Pinch I knew it was expensive when it first turned up, don't remember who's discovery that one was.
  13. Mercy Men - You Made it Thunder? Maynot be £20 now, but it was about that price for ages and ages...
  14. thats a shame, did he, or others speak about working with Dale Warren? my favorite track by them is 'What I want' it's got Dale Warren all over it...
  15. At the end he states "when the Atlantic record thing was being.... we died" did he ever tell you more about how / why that happened Graham? You would think getting a song out nationally would have helped?
  16. Oppps, that said I think you might have answers already...
  17. Nope, I don’t dislike it, but I'm happy to say I prefer 'The Soul Set - Will You Ever Learn' a million times over Mello Souls...
  18. Wow, loads and loads of tracks across three pages, and loads still coming in, shall we leave it for a day then I can count em up, and we can put the top three to the vote. hows that? malc
  19. Much the same, in regard to gettin on with business, but Bud Harper's better by a country mile! lol Maybe we should put the best on this thread to a vote, we can do that, it would be quite an accolade.
  20. Bud Harper - Wherever you Were, kicks in, and you know exactly where you are! the business!

  22. Has somebody mentioned Diane Lewis - I Thank You Kindly / Wand? or would that come under Detroit producers, or Detroit productions and recordings of Detroit artists that are leased to other labels? Produced by Herman Griffin, Says H&A Productions so I guess so...?
