  1. Yep, and it makes me weep.... That said if I can still pick up once expensive best ballads and mid tempo stuff cheap, them that's good right? I just can't sell them on.... George smith, jimmy helms - your mine you, milt Greyson - old standby, tears - good luck my love, ray and Dave, mellow fellows.... It don't get better than that does it...... Oh and before someone pipes up, robin rice was never as good as George smith, sorry I won't be turned on that.... Laughs.... Mal.c

  3. Hi all, nice original acetate and selection of 45's for sale, some reductions there on allot of these... Joe King - Speak On Up / Whats wrong — Original Promo Acetate - £200 Reduced to £160 This is an original promotional acetate sourced form the Prix label owner Clem Price, and is both the released sides from the Prix label 45. The label address is Harmonic Sound Production 1482 Felix Drive which is a different address to what appears on the released Prix 45. Harmonic Sound Productions was the in house production company, the song was produced by the label owner and written by the artist who was a staff musician. So it is a publishing promo as the address being different to the label address. I'm reliably told the guy this came from had all the tapes and master record plates for the Prix catalog. This is a typical 7"acetate with a metal base and shellack coating. Clean typed labels and the record plays great with only a couple light visible scuffs, scans below... ---------- Three Jades - Show me the way / Maurci VG++ £45 reduced to £35 (Very collectable tune on a collectable Chicago Label) Impressions - Minstrel & Queen / ABC Paramount Ex £25 dont see this one much, classic Impressions, nice issue.. 4. thanks guys, you know how it is, we've all looked at allot of original 45's, and every once in a while, you look twice.....and question.. M
  5. thats what I thought, not with standing the Doo Wop scene... I know they have booted allot of 45s in the past...
  6. Lucky bugger, if it had been the end of last week, I'd have snapped this off you.. my monies now spent...
  7. Just got a nice WD of The Impressions - Minstrel and Queen on ABC Paramount through, very happy and all that, but I'm not convinced, no Bell stamp, and the vinyl although thick, just does not look like an original early sixties 45 to me, I may be wrong, does anybody know whether this was booted on the Doo Wop scene? know anything about possible boots on this title.. Its a shame cause it was to replace an Issue I only got a few weeks ago, I hope it does not have to go back, but got it from a USA dealer on eBay, so if it is a boot, what are my options with eBay? do they recognize boots sold as originals? any help appreciated. Malcolm Here's the ebay link from this track https://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAR-IT-Doo-Wop-Promo-45-rpm-The-Impressions-Minstrel-and-Queen-from-1962-/360736364341?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=SW%252B6%252B5FpadC%252BQvl%252Faj6%252Fj46QANU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc and the scan of the 45 below.. WD obviously but no actual words saying Promotional copy... is that right?
  8. I got my spare up first I think on sunday, I normally sell my spare for £50, but it was a better coupling than last year so I rated it at £60... looks like folk saw I'd made that and followed suit, as they always do with buying and selling 45's on here... these 45's are always in demand, we all know that, and if you want a copy on the sunday after 50ish is normally the asking price has been for 3/4 years now.. I still need 6/7 for the full set, and I wouldn't pay over 60/70 for one personally...so there you go, all the new 45's have sold for 60, so its worth that isn't it... Mal.c
  9. yeah, they cocked up the big number, as we have last and this years at 33rd.. when it should be 34th.. Now sold..
  10. and scans of the 45...

  15. Such a great Label, and the groups names are allays cool an all... this top 500 business, I never understood it personally, if a tracks good, its good, I have no problem in hearing real big oldies, I love most of them, and stuff like this, i like that too....No where is ever going to play the stuff you have collected at home, so i never expect to hear those tracks, if I do hear one, its a bonus... As for going out, I dont go much these days, But we enjoy places when me and Liza can get out, 100 Club tonight, to be honest we always go for a nice meal before hand, and if the local shops are open we'll do some cloth shopping, so its not just about the niter, its a night away from the kids, and we get let loose on Oxford street, Wardour street and that area at night, and thats a night out for us as well....!!! If your feeling the pinch of 'Do's' just lay off em for a bit, just do one every 3 months say, it will come back... Mal.c Came across this play list on-line last night, from solar radio... I know 6/7 of them but loads of new stuff there.. there is always quality out there when you least expect it.. https://www.raregroovesmodernsoul.com/2011/06/rgms-21st-june-2011/
  16. believe the The Generation - I'm a good woman (BGP) is the first press of this, it appeared on a Kent CD initially... was unreleased until then..

  23. They always get something wrong don't they, never can put my finger on it, but coverage on the TV has never portrayed my experience, somehow I think the media will never produce a definitive piece on the Northern scene, there have been parts of some programmes that have come pretty close though, and the best of them for me, was the Old Grey Whistle tests' tony's Empress Ballroom.... rattling Milk bottles, early morning Drizzle and Bud Harper echo'ing out of the front of the building... that is still spine shivering!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJJq42q-r7s maybe Elaine Constantine's film within the context of a good story, will put that all to rights... Love the cushion!!! Mal
