I remember I did allot of walking when I was younger, I'd do the buses, trains etc, but because of the hours I'd get in I'd generally have to walk up to 5 miles home from the nearest town to my fathers, on top of beer, dancing and a long journey already, those 5 miles really used to get me especially as two miles of it was over a fly over and duel carriageway, no footpaths... Remember do's in and around Wolverhampton were always hard without a lift, as it was up to an hour just to get into Moor Street (B'Ham) from ours, across to New Street and out..If I had work (I was a chef back then), it really was fun, as that was between B'Ham and Cov, god awful place to get to for 6am, really fun trying to cook breakfast for 300, off your head!! I Love my Car... Malcolm

Just came across this, never heard it before, supposedly Chuck Jackson First Released song... On the You tube discussion some chap states this is the Del-Vickings backing up Chuck Jackson on this, but the original 45 came out on the FEE-BEE label with the two thin lines going across the middle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzitU5iPWvQ Malcolm

Think we all agree its Brilliant!!! I remember it being played at the 100 club in the later 9ts.. I dont remember, but assume it was played of an acetate or dub by one of the jocks up there, then got a release on the Mayfield repro label, I know it never came out so its not a repro as such, but you know what I mean.. just dont remember how this came to prominence... Picture below to activate the part of the brain that registers to such things... Malcolm

Doesn't anybody collect aussie 45s? Mal

The government here, and ones overseas, inc google et al are trying to erode copyright laws, some are standing up against them, but as far as I'm concerned unless it's deemed to to be enough to given be given a copyright, such as a headline say, you pay a licence for using it, and I broadly apply that to images, vision, songs etc... These things are not free... M

Just how good is this for a tenner... Joe Valentine - I can't stand to see you go - £10 -
dont take anything I say seriously mate.. by the way I got a re issue of the LP couple weeks back from a strange source, a Hi Fi shop in Aylesbury, if you know Aylesbury you will know is a baron desert for good music of any sort... Great track, just dont mention the Multi Coloured German!! Mal.C
-
See I did say, if you mention this track, we spend the next three days discussing which ones the best mix, for the future I'm going to state it in my signature, save us all precious brain cells wondering why we all bought the wrong record! M
-
Oh no, the which version debate on the chambers Bros... dont get the USA Columbia single, think the version you need is LP USA and other, and Spanish or German 7inch release, something like that, but USA 7 inch release does not have the live effect on it, just does not have the 'hit' of the version you want.. I think thats right.. malcolm
-
Love the Kelly Bros, i expect it must have been played before, but Mick Smith was playing it early doors at the 100 club in the mid to late 9ts... remember buying mine from across the tracks in Brighton, a happy day that, brilliant record... Sits right next to Little Charles and the Sidewinders - Talkin About You Babe, dont you think? Mal.C

Dave Porter - I Can’t See You When I Want To / Stax Great track and a big favorite mine, I want a copy, so from what I can see it came out on Enterprise (Stax) in the USA, and as the flip of Stax S-163 (Blue) and later as Stax 155 (That yellow series), dated 1970 that one. Is there any difference in any of these releases music wise? the blue one looks like its worth a couple bob, I'm not interested in paying silly money for a variant colour or anything, as long as its the original, UK or USA, issue or Demo, I'm happy.. anybody know? Malcolm
