  1. loads Benji, I have W&G and Festival Listings (61-69) and Ive highlighted the releases of interest for my reference, but Ive never counted them up.. It seems to me that the stuff between 61-69 is very well documented, but the 7ts and 8ts seem less so, and Ive come across allot of good releases from those decades, but again Ive never counted them up.. Dunnno, how long is a piece of string? £GRAD for the 100 club singles.. Phuttwwwttt... easier to get off your arse and go up there once a year isn't it...thats allot of money.. sorry Dave I'm fueling the Aussie debate I know, but its more interesting quite simply.. Malcolm
  2. Paid the princely sum of £2 for this from a shop in Brum, would have been in the late 8ts, it was always cheap wasn't it, till a couple years back.. Personally Ive always thought it was a pretty uninspiring track.. quite boring really...
  3. I Know he deals with a guy in Sydney Pete who has a shop there at the back of Central, Surrey Hills area, very near to where I used to work, same chap who was the source of the Jamaican Sam Dees / Fragile handle with care 45's that swamped the world some years back.... I met him once, thought he was an arrogant sod, so I asked if they were boots, which seemed to piss him off no end... safe to say we didn't like each other... And I know that George and Frank sold shed loads of Aussie 45's into the UK throughout the 8ts/9ts and beyond... makes sense that John Manship was likely a recipient of a whole lot of those... there are various hordes of 45's Ive heard of that came out of allot of strange locations, one guy I visited in Victoria I spent a very hot and sweaty day with in blistering heat, surprised they didn't all bend in my hands, it was a nightmare, went through thousands upon thousands of 45's, really narked of Liza, and found one garland green track, and then he tells me he had been cleaned out of soul stuff years before... God Damn!! Why didnt you say Dude!! and that was the story at allot of places throughout NSW, and other States we traveled trough.. Tamworth was good in NSW, its the country and western music Capitol in Oz, found loads of stuff in 2nd had stores on the fringes of the place, nothing in the center what so ever.. and I actually found some records in a junk shop in a place called Casino, which is on the inside of the Great Dividing range, farming town so how they got there I dont know.... Be honest, Parramatta record Fair nr Sydney was one the best places for me..Miss Goldie took me there initially in 2004, I went pretty regularly there after.. I said no to loads of things there, Shorty Long on TM, Don't mess with the Wkd,, bloody fool... I'm happy to learn, and if your selling, I'm always interested, but at the right price... Malcolm
  4. Did you pick the Clara ward up recently? there was one for sale but the bidding was very silly for it.... rare ones, Only ever seen seen one copy of Donald Jenkins on W&S, Frank in Melbourne has that, and the scans on Dave Flynn's Web site But the rarest 'Northern' Aussie might well be Nolan Porter on Pink Probe, a friend Craig in Sydney found 3 copies well over a fifteen years ago at a Big TV channel sale I think, big sell of, of some sort in Adelaide, there are some on here that were there that day, so they might put the location and date correct, my memory isnt what it was.... anyhow he kept two and sold one to Frank in Melbourne, George in Sydney is said to have a copy also. Tony Drake is very rare, and some of the Garland Green 45's on MCA, 'Jealous kinda Fella' being the most common, then the LP, then I'm told there are two other releases, I'd have to check my records for the titles, but very likely all culled from the LP... Finally the RCA stable always are very hard, 'Lights Out' by the Dynamics came up on eBay years back, never heard of another, pic cover as well... always found the RCA stuff hard to get hold of... oh and festival White Demo's, which do turn up, but you never see them for the good titles, Ive got about ten or so good ones in varying conditions.. any more out there, what do folks think..>? Malcolm
  5. very impressive, and something Aussie collectors will want to see, obviously I collect Aussie with a passion, and sleeves are a big factor for me, they have be right.... I'd bid but I got mine a decade ago for $30 aud... how prices go up. M
  6. christ have you seen how many this lot have re issued on look a like labels?
  7. Thanks Bob, I didn't notice that, but that label is modern isn't it, has to be a recent re issue..? Ahhhh.....Very Swift, cheers mate.. M
  8. Just looking at scans of this, as you do... and noticed these two below, ones R-146 and looks the original deal to me, the other has TR-155 and looks like a very modern Graphic picture of a label, something used to print or produce labels, so all this leads to the question, has this been re issued on a lookalike 45? Cause if it has, I want one till I can afford a nice original, any advice or the 45, gratefully appreciated. Kind Regards, Malcolm
  9. Is it me, or is the lead singer of the Voltaire's: 'Movin' Movin' On' track, out of tune? Malcolm
  10. For Sale, Walter (Butterball) Davis - Girl Stop Begging / La Cade Records Ltd / M- £100 Classic Crossover track, great intro...nice price for this as well, normally goes from £120 up to £150... also: The Cold Power Unit - The Hippy Strut / Cold Power VG++ £10 ** SOLD TO A COSSACK ** Recent release and Limited run of 200 pressed on this one, would be mint - but has a mark across the flip side, it came like that, but its one of those done with a finger nail, does not sound at all, Hippy side is mint, great Tighten Up... I know Jason at Soul Stacks sold straight out of this within a day or listing it... good record.. You pay Post £2.50 for 1st Class signed for (insured up to £50) £8 for Reg signed for post (insured up to £500) within the UK. Scans is the actual tracks for sale, the You Tube clips simply so you can listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1LBUfW-tjs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJlDmkSHpF0 Kind Regards, Malcolm
  11. notice the Aussie Sandy Wynns - The Touch of Penis, John Manship has up in his auction, in the wrong sleeve... If I was paying £131 and counting I'd want that to be correct, thats an Aussie sleeve but was not used post 1963... So if your reading this, it should be a Red stripped sleeve, yep 'Looks gorgeous' as it says in the blurb, but its not as it looked when it was issued... small matter, but makes a difference... Malcolm
  12. Love Energy Flash, especially at a Soul Do.,,such a big track wasn't it... I think allot of folk on here will love the Garage type / DJ International stuff, it's soulful, but once you veer violently off towards Dance Opera, R&S, New Beat stuff... They can't get away fast enough... Personally I love it, its basically pure twisted aggression!!!! and I just can't find that in Soul Music, so it caters for that side of me....

  15. same here rod. mal
  16. Think we discussed 'Loverock / You got the Love' some time ago, first heard that round a mate of mines, Martin Redmond, he got stuff cause he ran the Sindrome nights at Shelleyes. Christ he's got some records. On the subject of Mash up type things, I used to do a 'bedroom' one with David Bowie - Diamond Dogs and Tyrell Corporation - The Bottle, dont think I could replicate it now. One I remember standing out was from one of the Flying lot, maybe Dean thatcher with Blue Monday and Move Your Body, people used to 'lose their mind!" to that.. laughs all good fun M
  17. well I cant speak for yourself, but I just used to ask mate, and no doubt Like you, I put the time in.. every spare moment for years looking.. I was lucky to have a large network of friends that shared titles, we even bought for each other if something looked good... that and mates that went to Greyhound Distribution pretty regularly... I do remember allot of standing about, so nothings changed there then...
  18. More of the same, nice bloom, may Bug, and the Lambs are out!! Malcolm late editions, my mother-in-laws dog, looks like those little chaps of 'Return of the Jedi' Peacock feels free to roam, and a landscape from the Avebury Stones in Wiltshire.. entitled' Black Man's Bluff' Some very old roots in there and a shrimp from Brighton sea Life Center..
  19. filmed this a month ago (below MP4), had a lovely time taking images of our first Butterfly of the season, then it landed on the carpet and the cat jumped on it...!! couple of other critters in there, and a very nice bloom.. Malcolm IMG_0973.mov
  20. I still get his lists every so often, I do love actually getting a list through the door, re live the old BUZZ!! Yellow marker at the ready......Not quite the same sine the Inter web came on the scene is it... Ian Clarke at the Brighton Record fair throughout the 9ts, when Jesse Fisher - Your not Loving a Beginner WAS a £25 record...!!! Lol Malcolm
  21. is it? looks great in my i-Tunes.... m
  22. nicer scan of this 45.. I think its a really nice soul record, but its no way a classic... Malcolm
  23. missing four now, especially one of the hardest, 002 - The Magic Touch, was in Roger Stewart's shop some years back, and didn't buy it....DOH!!
  24. Its ok, the 45, but its not a patch on the Kent CD release, this is from the Classiest Rarities series folks, most folk on here already have it, take the time to compare them and you will hear the difference.... as I said I was happy to let the 45 go, keep the Mp3.... never thought Id ever say that! Cant stand that Joseph Webster 45, awful track, backing is great, just hate he way he sings it.... he a far better singer than he is on that 45... M
  25. 'Thats Enough' I was told most are boots, ages ago now, but its stuck in the memory... I have no evidence to prove that of course, and given it's a Chicago track, I kinda feel its unlikely, but there you go, its a suggestion... I think the thing with this is the 'Track' Richard is alluding to, is a very much accepted original... but then he does not know the answer to the question does he??? Richard what are you on about mate???? laughs Malcolm
