  11. is 'seven day fool' on chess or Coronet? Know what you mean on cover versions, there are hundreds, Pete Smith said he had a CD of loads of them, be good to see the track listing on that, personally I gave up collecting them because the quality got so bad, thought Little Pattie - Messin up a good thing was good, I did pick that up recently, and saw an Aussie Don Charles - The Drifter go on evil bay week or so ago, ok version but nothing tops Ray does it... so whats this 'Other'? you cant allude to something without giving us more of a clue? so its the flip of a country 45, what group of labels does it come from? Mal
  12. Here it is... I don't own this 45... Jimmy Smith is mine...
  13. yeah, quite a few on CBS, "Uphill Climb' is the one to get on Yellow Epic... you never see it.. and here's 'That' record by Ms Hines, Eye candy for some...
  14. Ive never seen one Pete, Superiors came up recently, that was nice, but I got outbid big time... I did get Que Sera, Sera recently though, is this the same lots? must be...
  15. OK, to widen the appeal of the thread, here's some nice Aussie Motown for you, I only collect demo's, ones with no bullet sticker showing, sticker would be on the other side.. Regards, Malcolm
  16. I feel like Ive been told off...again... laughs... Dave will you meet me half way>? thats a small visual pun... Whats happened to general chit chat, there are loads of threads where several conversations go on, in fact some of them become so nasty, this one isnt, that its the only way to get involved, ie speak about something else...
  17. loads Benji, I have W&G and Festival Listings (61-69) and Ive highlighted the releases of interest for my reference, but Ive never counted them up.. It seems to me that the stuff between 61-69 is very well documented, but the 7ts and 8ts seem less so, and Ive come across allot of good releases from those decades, but again Ive never counted them up.. Dunnno, how long is a piece of string? £GRAD for the 100 club singles.. Phuttwwwttt... easier to get off your arse and go up there once a year isn't it...thats allot of money.. sorry Dave I'm fueling the Aussie debate I know, but its more interesting quite simply.. Malcolm
  18. Paid the princely sum of £2 for this from a shop in Brum, would have been in the late 8ts, it was always cheap wasn't it, till a couple years back.. Personally Ive always thought it was a pretty uninspiring track.. quite boring really...
  19. I Know he deals with a guy in Sydney Pete who has a shop there at the back of Central, Surrey Hills area, very near to where I used to work, same chap who was the source of the Jamaican Sam Dees / Fragile handle with care 45's that swamped the world some years back.... I met him once, thought he was an arrogant sod, so I asked if they were boots, which seemed to piss him off no end... safe to say we didn't like each other... And I know that George and Frank sold shed loads of Aussie 45's into the UK throughout the 8ts/9ts and beyond... makes sense that John Manship was likely a recipient of a whole lot of those... there are various hordes of 45's Ive heard of that came out of allot of strange locations, one guy I visited in Victoria I spent a very hot and sweaty day with in blistering heat, surprised they didn't all bend in my hands, it was a nightmare, went through thousands upon thousands of 45's, really narked of Liza, and found one garland green track, and then he tells me he had been cleaned out of soul stuff years before... God Damn!! Why didnt you say Dude!! and that was the story at allot of places throughout NSW, and other States we traveled trough.. Tamworth was good in NSW, its the country and western music Capitol in Oz, found loads of stuff in 2nd had stores on the fringes of the place, nothing in the center what so ever.. and I actually found some records in a junk shop in a place called Casino, which is on the inside of the Great Dividing range, farming town so how they got there I dont know.... Be honest, Parramatta record Fair nr Sydney was one the best places for me..Miss Goldie took me there initially in 2004, I went pretty regularly there after.. I said no to loads of things there, Shorty Long on TM, Don't mess with the Wkd,, bloody fool... I'm happy to learn, and if your selling, I'm always interested, but at the right price... Malcolm
  20. Did you pick the Clara ward up recently? there was one for sale but the bidding was very silly for it.... rare ones, Only ever seen seen one copy of Donald Jenkins on W&S, Frank in Melbourne has that, and the scans on Dave Flynn's Web site But the rarest 'Northern' Aussie might well be Nolan Porter on Pink Probe, a friend Craig in Sydney found 3 copies well over a fifteen years ago at a Big TV channel sale I think, big sell of, of some sort in Adelaide, there are some on here that were there that day, so they might put the location and date correct, my memory isnt what it was.... anyhow he kept two and sold one to Frank in Melbourne, George in Sydney is said to have a copy also. Tony Drake is very rare, and some of the Garland Green 45's on MCA, 'Jealous kinda Fella' being the most common, then the LP, then I'm told there are two other releases, I'd have to check my records for the titles, but very likely all culled from the LP... Finally the RCA stable always are very hard, 'Lights Out' by the Dynamics came up on eBay years back, never heard of another, pic cover as well... always found the RCA stuff hard to get hold of... oh and festival White Demo's, which do turn up, but you never see them for the good titles, Ive got about ten or so good ones in varying conditions.. any more out there, what do folks think..>? Malcolm
  21. very impressive, and something Aussie collectors will want to see, obviously I collect Aussie with a passion, and sleeves are a big factor for me, they have be right.... I'd bid but I got mine a decade ago for $30 aud... how prices go up. M
  22. christ have you seen how many this lot have re issued on look a like labels?
  23. Thanks Bob, I didn't notice that, but that label is modern isn't it, has to be a recent re issue..? Ahhhh.....Very Swift, cheers mate.. M
  24. Just looking at scans of this, as you do... and noticed these two below, ones R-146 and looks the original deal to me, the other has TR-155 and looks like a very modern Graphic picture of a label, something used to print or produce labels, so all this leads to the question, has this been re issued on a lookalike 45? Cause if it has, I want one till I can afford a nice original, any advice or the 45, gratefully appreciated. Kind Regards, Malcolm
