Jackie Wilson — My Heart Belongs To You / Australian Brunswick White Demo Test Press VG++ £15 b/w The way I am As far as I’m aware Festival records in Australia didn’t produce White Demo’s for general Circulation, most if not all Festival 45’s had a Red Bullet sticker stating Promo stuck onto them. However they did produce a small quantity at the pressing plant to check the sound quality, I’d heard this number was 5-7 45’s, depending on how many times they needed to test the process. So what your looking at is a very rare Australian 45 by a classic American singer. Jackie Wilson — Alone At Last / Australian Brunswick VG+ £5 b/w Am I the Man This track was recorded and released in 1960, its not Soul, as you know it! This is like something Mario Lanza would release, he being one of the worlds greatest Tenners!! What it is in my humble opinion the one of the best examples ever committed to vinyl showcasing the ‘VOICE‘ the range, the beauty and depth of Jackie Wilson. We all love the Soul Years but this is still an essential track to have sitting there… Eddie Holman — Hey There Lonely Girl/ Australian Stateside VG+ £10 b/w It’s All in The Game Both Classics!! but then you know that.. 20. Oh yes, thats a cracker, remember 'Dave Hamilton - Blue Vibes' used to get played at the 100 club, was only for a short time I think, thats another good one... I'll check out the sax on Zeke & The Soul Setters (William Cummings)... sounds good that
  21. Pm'd ya yesterday Paul.. malcolm
  22. Love Instrumentals, my favorite one depending on whether Ive got my sixties or seventies head on, either The Muscle Shoals Swampers - House For Sale or Detroit Rhythm Section - I Know Something, that one Andy Rix and Dave Flynn still have Covered Up!!! And this week, cause Richard Serling opened his show with it the other week: The Three Degrees - Reflections of yesterday... absolutely Brilliant... also The Nite-Liters- K-Jee, which I was surprised to find out was a Wigan play, and Liberty - Girl You Better Wake Up... you live and learn. I'd suggest checking out some of the early 100 club anni singles, remember there are one or two good ones here.. Mal:-))
  23. that BILLY McGREGOR is killer track, it really is...
  24. Well said, you all spend far far too much on your tunes IMO, if you look else where, i.e for records that are not trendy, known and all that, they are always cheap.. new to the ears, sound great, fun to listen to, and again cheap, whats not to like... I'll spend money on certain originals for my classic northern soul collection, but the other collections that I have need to be fed regularly, and that is done on a budget for all the right reasons... with Aussie I can chase the big northern tunes on Aussie labels, but you lot out there are pushing the price of those up now, so collecting the lesser known 7ts stuff that came out over there for $5 bucks a go, pretty much always makes sense to me... I bought 'Laura Lee - Since I fell for you' on Aussie Hot Wax the other day for exactly $5 bucks... then Richard Serling played it on the second part of his show the other week, Glory be!!! I'm doing the right thing... !!! Malcolm
  25. really? seems there are lots of Black issues out there, I cant remember seeing it on demo either... fabulous track, if this were played, id be first on the dance floor... I dont feel that way about Gale Garnett though...
