General Johnson - Don't walk Away / Arista VG++ £10 Slight stain on the label, but otherwise a nice 45, this should go big again, its brilliant... Jerry Washington - Baby Dont Leave me / Excello Ex++ £10 Really good Funk track, he made some many great tracks for Excello, they are all good... Lady Margo - Simply Got to Make it / Cynthia Records Ex++ £10 Out of Phoenix, this is a brill Modern track, was included on an early Soul Supply LP, 'Modern Times' very worthy.. 9th Street Exit - Lets Make Sweet Harmony / Solid foundation (promo Stamped) Ex++ £12 ** SOLD ** Great Instrumental, loads of strings...nice piano.. Act iV - A Better Man than I / Cub Ex++ £10 This is the business, check out the writing credits (Valvano-Coleman-Bassoline) it could never have been anything other than brilliant... Al Wilson - Count the Days / Roadshow M- £10 Moves along at pace, Al Wilson was at his height I reckon when he recorded this and other 45's for Playboy.. Beverley & Duane - We Stick Together / Ariola Ex++ £10 Classic, both sides are the Dogs danglers... Phylis Hyman - Baby (I'm Gonna Love You) / Dessert Moon Ex+ £5 Underrated, seriously underrated...Great record by Phylis, great production... Jackson Sisters - Shake her Loose / Polydor Ex++ £10 Got a UK issue on the Mumms Label, this is brilliant, lovely vocals... Jean Carn - All I Really Need is you / PIR (Wd) EX+ £10 Classic 'Jean Carn' track, nice on Demo too... Gail Eason - Love is Gonna Find You / A&M (Wd) Ex++ £12 One of those brilliant A&M Soul sides, this is a killer... Tip Watkins - People Gonna Talk / H&L Ex++ £12 quality seventies track, great backing vocals too...did he do an Lp on H&L?   3. I understand... I guess its down to the Uk's connection to Youth Cults thats the reason for the use of tracks like that, were obviously not the only place to have big youth scenes, but it's always been passed on like a baton in this country, each generation adding its own sounds...

  6. I agree, its not mega rare by any stretch, but when I first wanted this years back it took ages to get one, the reason being it got snapped up quick... and was only worth £20 at most.. £250 though.. sorry nah!!

Fluorescent Smogg - All My Life / S.S M- £10 ** SOLD ** Great repro, thick vinyl, great sound, has labels reversed as most of these do... George McGregor - Temptation is Hard to Get / Twinight M- £10 From the Numero group, very good 45 taken from the Yellow label Original.. Jimmy Thomas - Above a Whisper / T.B. Super Soul M- £10 Listed the better side I think, Ive got an original now so dont need this any longer, sublime song... Joe Valentine - I Lost the Only Love I Had / Val Records M- £15 Brill Crossover 45, all his tracks were great. Little Tommy - Baby Can't You See / Sound of Soul £10 ** SOLD ** Classic Northern dancer and recent look a like press, great sound.. has an Unissued deep side on the flip. Tamala Lewis - You Won’t Say Nothing / Marton M- £15 ** SOLD ** Doesn't need an intro, if you dont have it, you need it...seventies boot of course The Majjestees - Take Back All Those Things / Mutt M- £12 ** SOLD ** Top notch Northern soul 45, nice track this.. that double 'jj' got me on the spelling.. The Phonetics - Just A Boys Dream / Trudel Records M- £10 ** SOLD ** fabulous Group 45, the one to collect from them on this label, great look a like 45. The Volumes - I've Never Been So In Love / Garu M- £12 ** SOLD * Another one of those rare silly money Detroit Records, looks the business...sound is brilliant. Two Plus Two - I'm Sure / Look Around / Velgo M- £12 Real powerful Detroit double sider, both top draw as certain dealers like to say... Personally I put my socks in my top draw...but you get the gist... Walter & the Admeration's - Man Oh Man (What have I done) / Life Of Tears / La Cindy M- £15 ** SOLD ** Listed and scanned man oh man, as everybody knows that side, for me 'Life of Tears' is the side on this disc, far far better track imo.. so you get both... ------- Kind regards, Malcolm.

Saw somebody mentioned Precisions - If this is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely) - £10ish, Id have said that, maybe £15 for a nice minter, thing is there are not many minters out there, but lots of crap copies, and I see the price of this track rising, saw somebody list it at £40 sterling the other day.. nearly fainted at that...

Jacqueline Jones - It's a Beautiful World / Loadstone VG++ £25 I personally think this has a tad more drive that 'Frown on my Face' it suits her voice a bit better. Fabulous Crossover 45, always in demand on here... Frank Lynch - Young Girl / My Record M- £40 Brilliant sixties 'Crossover' 45 out of Boston. Love this track, has a real neat Label design, they understood their market for sure... Little Willie Pollard - No Money / ARK M- £20 Brilliant mid sixties R&B Record, came out on two labels, cant remember which is first, but this is a West Coast release. Ive never been a big R&B fan really, but I love this 45, great Sax Break!! Charren Cotton - A Little Bit of Love / Philomega M- £100 ** HOLD ** 1st issue or Local release of this brilliant 'Crossover' track on Perception. I Love her voice, this is a smooth laid back track... very rare on this label... The Valentines - Got to get yourself together / SS7 EX++ £20 This is the business, fabulous group harmonies, up there with 'Breakaway' its just a different kinda song... --------- Kind Regards, Malcolm

Wayne Anthony - A Sure Case of Love / A Thousand Miles away / Roulette VG++ £20 Used to play this one on a radio show I co hosted in Australia, strangely it reminds me of an awakening Goliath!! Brilliant building song, great vocal and piano! Johnny Newbag - Sweet Thing / Port Records M- £45 Beautiful copy, really nice mid tempo 45 from Johnny... The Enjoyables - Push a Little Harder / Well Find a way / Capitol VG++ £45 bit of surface wear but a nice copy none the less... Brooks O'Dell - You Better Make up Your Mind / Slow Motion / Bell Demo EX++ £30 Stafford track I think, he never made any bad records Brooks... The Remarkables - Is the Feeling Still There / Easily Mislead / Audio Arts VG++ £25 Nice double sider, rarer west coast press of these tracks.. The Faithful Wonders — Ol’ John (Behold Thy Mother) / Tad off Mint (dh) Checker £70 Stunning track, the music and disc, doubt this has been touched since the day it was returned as unsold stock. Willie Greasham and The Free Food Ticket — I Cried Boo Hoo / Majesty M- £20 Absolute spanker of a copy, and a brilliant driven Soul Funker… Dan Folger - The Way of The Crowd / ELF WD VG++ (Xol) £80 Classic Beat ballad, it’s a BIG one! Very Nice copy… Cookie Scott & The Chevelles — Mislead £120 EX++ ** SOLD ** This is the release with Mislead vocal and Inst on it, a yellow issue. Always preferred this Crossover track from Cookie personally… Black & Blue - What I Got / Goin Back To Miss Annie Mercury Red Issue £120 VG++ This is the Red Issue with the brilliant flip side; you don’t get this on the common Demo’s, two brilliant crossover tracks for your money… --------- Kind Regards, Malcolm
  23. I just hate the vocal on Chuck Holiday, its not a patch on the Four Voices vocals... and I love both versions of 'Trade my Soul', but E.Williams probably a bit more...
  24. Christ, thats extortionate... pay £200 over here, no doubt you could get it cheaper down under... I was paying under 15aud for most stuff when I lived there, if it was special it might have gone upto $60 say.. but only on things like Sue Barker LP, stuff like that... M
  25. ahh.. sorry I should have read between the lines... btw, you describe Bobby's shows as wild, I remember sleeve notes mentioning James Brown used to catch the shows when he was in town, has anybody ever seen one of these shows, does film exist do you think?
