  3. Ok, just to put you all out of your misery, I found out this is South African... if you think different I'm all ears.... Mal:_)
  4. we all hate styrene, that said I'm sure there were different grades, as I have some 45's that sound great and have lasted long, suppose Mercury were the biggest culprits, some of their styrene releases were shockingly thin and bendy... its good the music was far far better!! back to DB, I've had a vinyl Grey one before, sold it in the 9ts, but I'm with you, I dont think those are boots... M
  5. When a label makes an order with a pressing plant, would they be given the option of Vinyl or Styrene, or would it have been pressed in what ever the plant had? and I say this as a way to explain the variations, as we know different plants would have used all types of plastics to produce records, is it that arbitrary... Mal
  6. maybe its been mentioned, grey label first, pink after, as Pete said DJ copies say so on the label...
  7. Have a chap selling this who has said its a rare Australian release. As far as i can remember I was told that all Aussie releases have 'Australia' somewhere on the label, they just do, and thats always been the case as far as I have found. Secondly, I dont ever remember seeing a Black Brunswick label releases so late, Brunswick releases were all early sixties, then they switched to Coral, never seen the Brunswick label past 62/63... So this 45 is a strange one... Anybody id this 45, tell me where it originates from? Thanks in advance.. Mal:-))
  8. what stickers would have been there Dave? they are a luvly pair none the less...
  9. Hi all, very nice Aussie sale below... Tyrone Davis - Can I Change My Mind / A Woman Needs To Be Loved / Atlantic (Australian) M- £20 ** HOLD ** Luvly copy this of a classic... strangely Its only the second Ive had in 5 years, which leads me to think it maybe a tad rarer on Aussie release... --------- ** Payment to be made by pay pal, as Friends & Family (Gift Payment) to: arkanoid300@hotmail.com ** POST ** 1st Class Signed for Within the Uk (Insured upto £50) £2.50 Reg Post for a single 45 in the UK, (Insured upto £500 within the UK) £7.15 If your overseas just say where and I'll quote you separately... 10. Don't know about your mate Drew, perhaps it was better he just walked off... you should have kept going up to him, asking if this and that was R&B... really done his head in... I think we pigeon hole music too much allot of the time, I've always thought of 'R&B' as being used by all sort of folk from all over the wold, for varying degrees of Black Music... its never gone out use, and it means different things to different people... so there... M:-))
  11. Just listed this in sales mate... (James Wayne & Soul Soothers) Kind regards, Malcolm
  12. Hi all, some very nice sales below... Any links to you tube are for reference only, not an exact recording of the 45 for sale, if you get my gist.. I do not offer free postage unless stated. --------- James Wayne - I've Found Someone / My Last Letter / Key-Lan Records M- £200 ** SOLD** Ive listed 'Found Someone' as the main track on this brilliant double sider, but for me 'My Last Letter' is simply awesome, unbelievable deep soul 45, doubled with a very impressive Northern soul mid tempo side.. (Female Vocal) Barbara English - Taste Sour Don't it / Publishers Acetate (single sided) £300 EX+++** SOLD** Long story on this one, firstly the track, Blinding Northern dancer, one of two versions of the song, the other being sung by Jimmy Radcliffe, this is a Jimmy Radcliffe production from his personal tapes via his son. The disc, 3 acetates were cut by Jimmy Radcliffe's son quite some years back, and sold on here. As it turns out he cut them from tapes his father had left in his estate, so they were on original Publishers blanks but newly cut, if that makes sense. I have all the original packaging, all my correspondence with his son, fun that was...and of course the acetate.... this is a blinding unreleased Northern soul track, certainly one for young aspiring Dj's out there... The Venturas - Baby be Mine / Daniels Ex++ £200 ** SOLD** Brilliant Chicago Group soul 45, both sides are brilliant... The Brentwoods - Gee But I Miss Him / Bell Sound Acetate VG++ £50 ** SOLD** Plays fine this, and is a really great Girl Group track that came on ‘Talent Records’ in the US. I think this is really brilliant record… Johnny Summers - I Cant Let Go / Yorktown M- £350 Two versions of this great track on the label, personally I love them both, but I’m only going to keep one, hence sale. Kind Regards, Malcolm
  13. Brand New faces Might be rare and all that, but i think its a pretty dreadful record... Jimmy Burns is great and all that, I still listen to it on i-tunes, but its allot of money for a track thats a pretty great Northern dancer, though I could think of better things to spend my money on,,, its not Gene Toones is it... If you have a wallet as wide as the DuSable bridge, then of course 'you must have it...' Mal
  14. I love it, lets all click and register were watching, inflate his selling ego.... what next, 'The Esquires - And Get Away' for a £1000!!! YES!!!!!! M:_)
  15. Hi all, some Friday sale below.. I'll be at Soul Kitchen in Tunbridge Wells tonight if anybody is going and wants to pick up... all the linked You Tubes, are not a recording of the actual disc for sale, just the song... Kind regards, Malcolm --------- Linda Grinder - Goodbye Cruel Love / Motown WD VG+ Plays VG++ £100 this is one of those copies that looks far far worse than it sounds, to be honest you cant hear much distortion or noise when its on, but visually it has surface scratches and wear on the vinyl and label. Listen The Venturas - Baby be Mine / Daniels Ex++ £200 Brilliant Chicago Group soul 45, both sides are brilliant...Listen The Foundations - Change My Life / Psycho M- £100 Uk only release and one of two brilliant tracks released on this label, laid back 7ts Soul... Listen The Esquires - Ain't Gonna give you up / Lamarr M- £15 You can buy all the rare stuff, but nothing beats the Esquires!! Class all the way.... Listen Maxine Brown - / ABC Paramount WD VG+ £10 Beautiful ballad from 63, Some scratches, and clicks but nice demo none the less...Listen --------- ** Payment to be made by pay pal, as Friends & Family (Gift Payment) to: arkanoid300@hotmail.com ** POST ** 1st Class Signed for Within the Uk (Insured upto £50) £2.50 Reg Post for a single 45 in the UK, (Insured upto £500 within the UK) £7.15 If your overseas just say where and I'll quote you separately... 18. apologies of this one has been up already.. £300 Buy it now for Eddie Holman - I Surrender, he does have 'Make me an Offer' on there too... whats frightening is there are 4 people watching this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NORTHERN-SOUL-Eddie-Holman-I-Surrender-ABC-MINT-/301531827787?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4634b28e4b
  19. yeah, initially I just wanted this 45, but having owned it how ever many years its a minute too long, and has no finesse what so ever... and yes the beats are off a bit...
  20.
