  3. thats an original on Colossus.. Mal:_)
  4. Agree, two big favourites, wonder what else came out I this label, cause if they are as good as the two above, I need them! And label listings for Sorocco out there folks? M
  5. I can now confirm the outcome of Benji's 'smell test'.. It's an Old acetate, notice it's the NY address for Frankford Wayne, all the other FW acetates I've had have been Philly ones... Anyhow the flip is the flip side or sweet soul side to Footsteps by Shock on Sorocco... M
  6. some list though aint it.. any promoter / Dj types out there? if you can play that lot in a round about order, I'm there for the night...Pronto! Malcolm
  7. Another brill Kent CD, Love it... I wonder whether the Hesitations 'Don't Go' should have been released on one of these CD's; this is where I find out it wasn't a Pied Piper Production, and I've got egg on my face, if not, Volume 3 Pls.... Kind Regards, Malcolm
  8. What's in the box, do you have s list? M
  9. This is the styrene one Rob?
  10. You did Benji, kinda regret selling that but hey ho.., Regards this acetate, i don't think it was cut last week by the scan and MP3, I've not actually got it yet so can't do the 'sniff' test, but I got it cheap, so it's no real big deal if it was... My guess is it's an engineers dub copy... But you never know there are lots of folk out there know tons more than me... M
  11. blimey 70 odd views and not one thought? I dont just like modern soul you know...
  12. always get the Mastercuts volumes, great start.. and 'The 'Rare Grooves for the Dance floor' series has some nice stuff on it, they look very thrown together but have some interesting selections... also there was a great one in the 8ts/9ts called 'Shake and Finger pop' from the club night I guess, that was really good... also RARE - A Rare Collection of Grooves was a brill series... and the Funk Soul Brother series was also another must have... mal https://www.discogs.com/Various-Rare-A-Rare-Collection-Of-Grooves/release/484867
  13. Freddie Lowe- "Decisions" 10" Fnkfrd/Wayne Acetate As you all know this track got released as promo only, and had long / short versions on it, not the flip side which is on this acetate which is "Why Should I Forgive You". I think that also came out on Sorroco but on another 45... Anyhow, can anybody give me any idea about this, cut last month? or was cut as you would presume at Fnkfrd/Wayne back in the day to gauge the mastering process... seller says he doesn't know, but came from the NY area... I wonder what folk think, either way I'm happy as I sold my demo a couple years back, so its nice to have something to play this off at home again... Malcolm
  14. great to see the Italian release of Marcia Hines, do you have any Aussis releases? mal
  15. as far as I know it was totally unreleased till 2005...
  16. That is confusing with the name, but yes I went to Kev Higham's do at the Custard, which I've been harsh with maybe, it needs the sound system sorting out, big time, as it looked the job but sounded dreadful. On the plus side the drinks were cheap, and with more through the door it would be great... M
  17. music was great, just couldn't hear it.. issues I'm sure those guys will sort out for next time...
  18. My golly, they are all keepers in my house bar one, Id get it!!
  19. do called Second City Soul... was off the Sheldon road somewhere, before you get to the big underpass...we traveled as well which was a bit of a disappointment, on the upside there were allot of friends there, which made up for it.. Only do Ive liked in the last 3 or so years is Soul Kitchen in Tunbridge Wells, musically right up my street, lovely bar, pretty easy for me to get to, and some lovely folk... deffo going back for more! To my mind the only do that was ever any good in B'ham was the Outrigger and for a time Sinatras, but that was the eighties, and I haven't lived in the city in 20 plus years, but Maryam, good luck to you... Mal.C
  20. went to a soul do recently in Brum, nr Sheldon, loads of good names, dealers on the flyer, it was a disaster, should have learnt my lesson years ago...never go to a soul do in Birmingham, it will be shit...
  21. Ive also bought tons from Japan, I have to say they are all great guys over there, and when it comes to condition, every 45 I've ever bought has been very minty... fast quality service...is std in Japan pretty much I think.. m:_))
  22. yes I meant Calgary, obviously I dont know where I'm going!! especially if the snow hits... will be October..
  23. Maybe a bit further a field, but I'll be doing a road trip across Canada later in the year, finishing in Calgary, I was eying Seattle as a possible trip down across the boarder.. I'll note the above, but if anybody knows any must see shops and locations from East coast Canada over to Calgary, I'm all ears! Malcolm
  24. That's really sad news...same experience as many on the 'Soul Class of 66' Lp... It's a seminal track!! Mal
