  1. God dam your hard Dobber! lol OK, from the big list above, I checked, most came out else where, stand by Keith & Billie - Taste Sour Don't It / Picadilly, although Penned by Jimmy Radcliff over there, it only ever got a release in the UK, as far as I can see. Until of course his son Chris Radcliffe cut those acetates, well over a decade ago...BIG man obviously did release it last year of course, but not their version.
  2. Another UK Production that went nowhere... Ken Roland - Fly My Kite
  3. This is a good one, but its kinda mix of loads of tracks, but independantly written by Biddu Appaiah. Bit of Four Tops, and I hear the same arrangment as Billy Ocean, different lyrics.. and he even used 'Build me up Buttercup' at one point, it's more like a 'Pastiche' then anything else... but UK released... Jimmy James - A Man Like Me

  15. As a seller via a third party aucton, such as John's, I for one would not be happy to cover postage for the winner, having already given up 20%, it just does not add up on most records that are bought and sold. As for bidding, mugs game mate, stick with the set sales...
  16. I auctioned two pretty rare 45's with John last year, I wanted to put minimums on them, as I wanted a certain amount for them, he said not to, and I took his advise. They came in under what I wanted, and after the 20% I did feel I'd lost out, sure they made allot more than I paid for them, but I have to say I was pretty disappointed. So, think before you comit, you can put them up for auction via here, FB etc and not incur any fees, remembering 20% that might be your difference in bids on something worth a grand. He gets some silly prices, but only for certain things, so if its something like Jesse Davies on Joboth, your quids in, a more common 45, I'd do it yourself.
  17. Touch of Willie Hutch brilliance, from 1977 LP 'Havin a House Party' / Motown

  19. Just adding some info Tim, 'Oh Baby' and the brill flip 'Why' were both recorded at Gold Star Studios, 6243 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, California. I read as 'OB' was played in the UK by John Vincent at Wigan in 1975. I have 1966 as the release date, maybe 65 was when the Rainbo 45 was recorded.
  20. Burnley? only place where it's part of the fabric of their humour...
  21. I was wondering about this 45 the other week, so here is mine, thats a vinyl first issue right?
  22. A few of us met them both, and their respective wives after a live event in Brighton, back in the 9ts, they were all sitting down to a meal, and asked if we wanted to join... I think we botttled it and just got autographs. I was really impressed how friendly they all were... wish I had sat down with them now of course...
  23. I'd say no at an actual proper Soul do, I guess this has to do with the kind of event, if it's a Scooter do, or something like Tony Renold's Outrigger reunions, then I'd expect it... I guess folks do have to put their hands up to tracks like Glen Miller & Boris Gardiner (Bronco).
