Just going through some old record boxes & found 4 copies of Chris Jones "Destination Unknown" / "I'm the man" Goodie Train. All were un-played stock, but there's a couple of light scuffs & a teeny bit of storage warp. £10 each. £1.50 postage within the uk. Even if you take all 4 copies I'll only charge £1.50 postage. Both sides can be heard below if you follow the link to the copy for sale for a hundred quid https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/154883-destination-unknown-im-a-man.html

Thanks Chalky, I'd not seen that before.

I bought this from someone on Soul Source quite a few years ago. To this day I've still not seen another? Has anyone got one? It's a 12" LP by Thee Midniters, but look at the track listing. Going by the markings in the dead wax I'm thinking it was done in the early 80's? It doesn't have a sleeve.

Ady Potts replied to Hammie's topic in Record Sales
The flip is a very big record for the collectors over on the West Coast. -
To be perfectly honest the rare b side isn't that good, to my ears, Headache in my heart is better. I got one off Sam many years ago & even he said it's not very good, and he was selling it to me! lol

BBC - Fake Britain - Vinyl Bootlegs - 28 Nov 2019
Ady Potts commented on Mike's article in News Archives
Why is it that so many people get into collecting & just want copies of records that have already gone big on the scene ? You've just said about a prime example - Turley Richards. That was just a cheap record for donkeys years. As it was only about 10 to fifteen quid I bought 4 copies, played one & sat on 3 to sell if it ever went up, because I thought it was not a bad record for the price. So why not listen to the records that are still relatively affordable that haven't gone big. We only got to listen to a lot of these on tape swaps, but now we've got youtube. Like Steve G said in an earlier post, if you can afford to pay £10 to £30 on a boot or carver you can buy originals. Just thought of another brilliant little record, Curtis Smith - Livin End. I bought 8 copies for two quid each off a dealer, it now makes 50 quid. Rather than buying 2 or 3 boots, buy a copy of that before it becomes another Turley Richards. Oh sorry, perhaps we'd better wait until a big named dj plays it & it sells for £600, then we can moan about the stupid price it makes. -

I've had two copies of Little Willie Faulk. Interesting thing is one copy had the address on the label & the other one didn't. Only ever had one copy of Ree Flores. Having played both versions at Stewartby I have to admit general opinion has always been Ree Flores sounds better loud.

I owned that copy !

Very rare British London R&B. Ocie Smith "Lighthouse" / "Too Many" London in it's original sleeve. £100. Condition. Genuine condition, it's not been cleaned up. Light scuffs, mostly sleeve lines, no pops or bangs, record plays flat. It's got its original middle perfectly in tact. It has pencil on both labels. The VG on one label is nothing to do with the condition it the initials of the man that owned it (Victor) he was a local dj back in the early 60's, I got his collection.

Here's a bit of a bargain for you. The Puffs "I only cry once a day now" / "MOON OUT THERE" for £200. Condition. Vinyl is visually Excellent. The record is perfectly flat, but here's the reason I've halved it's price. On the outer edge there are tiny little edge ripples to the vinyl. In the silent run in you can hear some noise, not ticks or pops - more like a whoosh sound, this then fades when the music kicks in. Mind you, like a number of rare West Coast vinyl presses it's pressed on that slightly noisy reconstituted vinyl. Postage at cost.

Rare black issue in top condition. THE INTERTAINS - NEED YOUR LOVE / GLAD I FOUND YOU - UPTOWN. £100. Postage at cost.
