  1. I was wondering where the Linda Hawley's on Excalibur were coming from.
  2. My mate came round the other week with the Monzas that he got off Lil pedlar. Asked if he could compare it to my one, he had a boot. What were the Oxford Nights like that Lil pedlar was selling? My one that i sold a couple of years ago had a stamp in the run out. Has anyone that goes on here got one from him, & if so, did it have the factory stamp in the run out?

  6. So am i, cheers James!!
  7. Ha ha, break it to him gently. Make sure you have a camera when you tell him. Oh dear, the things that make my day.
  8. O.k., now i'll let you in on a little secret, but pleeeeeeease don't tell Soul Sam, Arthur or Rob Thomas!! A couple of years ago a friend of mine was over from America, he will remain nameless unless he wishes other wise, we were at a record fair & he started buying up copies of the chart hit Gloria Gaynor - "You never can say good bye". He told me they sell well back home, buy for 10p & sell for $5, cool. The next day he asked me if i knew the flip of "you never..." & i had to admit i never. Any way, a couple of days later i had to get some acetates cut, so for a laugh, i got it cut on a 7" acetate (the flip). I thought i'd give it a few spins out & see if anyone twigged. I had it sat in the back of my box at Kempston, the night Sam & Arthur were on. Sam said "whats this?" when he see it. I told him to have a listen on the portable & see if he knew it. "No, do you know this Arthur? No" Fair enough, i thought, cause neither did i. Here's the good bit. I gave it a play to Rob, he reacted with "Ow mooch is that f**ker", i said i didn't want to sell it, i wanted to play it & see if i could make it into a big record. Bearing in mind there was no name on the acetate, a total unknown, ha ha. He said, in his normal modest way, "it wont work for you, it needs a big name like ME behind it." "Ah, errrrm, oh, yep go on then Rob" i said, "seeing as you put it like that, you can have it, infact have it for nowt." The next weekend Rob gives it a spin at the start of his set. Brilliant! Packs the floor. He plays it in his second set. As he's doing so, a blokes just walked in off the street & is stood next to me. He said to me "Why's he playing a million seller?" "Dont know mate, go & ask him". He did. Oh dear, if i only had a camera at that second. I'm sorry. Very childish. But f***ing funny. Don't tell Rob.
  9. I used to play this at the Polish club in Luton, sounds good loud. Sounds a bit like Carl Fortnums "Leaving Detroit" acetate...Good tune!!
  10. Did you mean to say clock seller Ian??
  11. Now there's an idea Ian. We can put Pat Butcher on the door.
  12. Another wasted opportunity to plug The Dome.
  13. Yep, i spotted him. First time i've seen him when he's had nothing to say!
  14. The funny thing is, & i think i'm correct, this is one of those rare times that the U.K. Decca release is in fact the 1st issue. So, what you need to ask for is the 1st issue of the 2nd issue. Sorry. TAXI !!!!!
  15. I can see where the 'pes' bit comes from now. If you go one hundred & eighty degrees round from S - 002 B there is a tiny mark about 2mm in size. I've just had a look under a magnifyer & the letters could resemble something like 'pes', remembering it's only 2mm.
  16. James, If you measure 1.5cm to the left of S - 002B there should be an 8mm long stamp. All it will look like is a block of stamped dots. There will be NO visible letters in this stamp, NO 'pes'. Bring it along to the next Dome & compare it if you want.....Ady
  17. Yes Alison, the loos were fixed prior to the first night. There is now another Ladies at the top of the stairs, where the old cloakroom was. So does that mean you'll come back to The Dome now Alison? Mind you, we still cut up news papers for loo rolls........Ady.
  18. Nice one Mike!! Bet there's some nice stuff in there. Was Buena Park busy yesterday? Has George Rodriguez & Carlos been finding anything? Big Robert Rodriguez.... looking bigger every time you see him? Keep an eye on Tommy for me....Regards. Ady.
  19. SELL IT!!!!
  20. Poor old 'Dirty Den', 3 women ganging up on him.........Typical!!
  21. Just to let you know Will Johnson has put his new sales list out.... Nice things on there. Email for a list: will@northernsoulvinyl.com Website: www.northernsoulvinyl.com
  22. Sorry Ernie, regarding selling records to the American's, you're wrong. I have a lot of collector friends in the States that regularly spend good money with me. I know for a fact a few of them would like to get their hands on a Chubby Checker for $500. I know most of the collectors in L.A., & there are a few of them that have paid 4 figures for soul records.
  23. if you cant bring nino tempo then i'm not sure if you'll get on the decks...!!! Andy, you know it's never wise to play the same record twice in one night.....You are on before me, aren't you...
  24. Can't wait Andy.... Got my oldies box ready.....Ace Spectrum...Nolan Porter...Jackie Wilson......Inmates on Koppit......Billy Butler......Ray Medina & The New Latin Breed vocals by Tutti.... Don't panic Andy..i'll keep an eye on the dance floor.
