  3. Hi Breck, Nice to see you on soul-source. That Magnetics was a nice find, well done mate, hope you gave the person it came from a good price Keep diggin' Regards....Ady Potts. P.S. I'll vouch for this guy even though he does come from Detroit.
  4. Hi Ian, did he get it when he sent his money??
  5. I would think this is a case where the Magnetics on ebay made so much money that every collector out there with one has thought about selling it. I would lay odds on that's what has happened in this case. These types of records are out there in collections. About 2 years ago i was round a 'quiet' collectors place, who doesn't d.j., normal every day kind of job. I was blown away when i saw a few of the records in this persons collection, there was a 'Lady in green' there. So you imagine the temptation to sell, when you've just seen one make $8000. In the case of the Danny Moore, i got a 'demo' from long before they showed up, the vinyl's the same as the quantity ones, they're real.

  7. Not half as much as i am steve Makes me wonder why i bother putting things in sales boxes sometimes, looks like it would make far better sense for me to give em all to Lew or John to sell, so i can sit at home in front of the telly with me feet up. Anyways.....hope your keeping well steve, regards..ady
  8. Heyup Steve, you dont see that many issues about, to be honest i've only seen one. Can you remember who yours went to? regards...pottsy
  9. Try & get an east coast vinyl copy. You'll get tired with having to keep turning up the volume on the west coast demo & red issue. pottsy.
  10. I had one of these in the sales box a year or so ago for £150, every time the box was put out people would grab it, put it on the portable, then put it back in the box. Not the best of tunes. Eventually, after doing about 3 months in the box, Tim Brown took pity on me & gave me £60 for it. Shocked to hear someone give a $1000 for it
  11. and i still couldn't sell it baz
  12. How much is a mint Sound Of Soul demo, with the girl backing worth now?
  13. Hello Ritchie, The Chico Lamarr flip,"How about you" & The Penetrations "Sweet, sweet baby" are exactly the same record/recording. So The Penetrations was just another name Leonard Jewell was calling himself. It's definitely him, he had such a distinctive voice. pottsy.
  14. I remember that one, he sent me a list with it on, minimum bid £500. So i called him after a day or so & asked what it was up to, no ones bid he said, so i said i'd go the £500. I called him back an hour or so before the auction closing time & i was the top bidder, then called him at the end & he said butch is having it. Strange auction that was.
  15. What a bargain, ended at US $8,101.00 £4,704.14
  16. Dan i must admit my bottom started twitching a bit when i first saw this one go up on ebay, is it time to unload my copy quick i thought, so as i'd just purchased a record from him it gave me a chance to ask him about the copy he was selling. By the way, i did say to him that i wouldn't be bidding on it before i asked him about it, here's what he said:- Ady, The Magnetics was uncovered by a picker in a basement recently, based on scribblings on a few of the sleeves, I'd say it was probably promo stuff intended for the WJLB DJ xxxxx xxxxxxx, maybe he gave away to someone in the neighborhood or a relative, who know? I didn't notice any distortion or noise when I played it, it seemed like I was the first one to give it a spin! best, xxxxx By the way, that's not him sending me kisses at the end, just thought best to blank out names. I see he's cancelled the 2 bids that took it to the $7000 price, as they had no feedback. One of those no feedback names won the Cairo's the other day, wonder if they got their money. pottsy
  17. I've had more copies of the Cashmeres than the Epsilons. I know i'll take some flack over this, but i think the Epsilons is the rarer of the two.
