  1. It was a great hunting ground before they got on the internet. Had three Timi Yuro's out of there over the years, last one Ray let me have for £60 about 3 years ago. Great bloke Ray, collects phone cards, talked to him for hours about those things Tommy found a mint Scotts on swingers, & a mint Your my mellow in there a couple of years ago for next to nothing. Nothing much left in the warehouse now, mostly thousands of chart records, but it was good while it lasted.
  2. Hi John, Yes it does have the w3 in the deadwax So whats the verdict?
  3. Hello Jerry, sorry mate, yes your correct, 117-B is the "Heaven is in your arms" side. Just thought, some years ago I had one that didn't play on centre. The one i've got now plays fine. Does the one with "Chicago..." on the label play on centre? Just a thought. Cheers, Ady.
  4. Hi Eduard, You forgot to mention the Lenny Curtis is on vinyl. These play real nice & clear, plus they look good. You should post up a scan of it cheers Ady
  5. Here's mine. Pronounced dip, no "Chicago, Illinois", it has 117-A w3 in the run out. Just looks like they pressed a batch & then thought perhaps we should add Chicago, Illinois ? Would seem strange to do it the other way round & remove it?
  6. Hi Rudzy, He would have had them cut over here, but used old blanks from the States. In the case of yours, I would guess he found an acetate that had been cut on one side only, with a pop tune from what you've said, then had the Consruction cut on the blank side. In fact this rings true with the one I had, as on one side they had attempted to cut the True Image track, but it comes to an abrupt stop half way through. This would be because the cutting needle broke, probably caused by the Shellac having hardened with age, most probably because the blank was a few years old. So they had to flip it & re cut it on the other side. Ady.
  7. Hi Eddie, Funny you should say about this. I was just looking at the scan, it looks like the hand that has written the info on this one, is similar to an Audiodisc acetate of True Image - I'm not over you yet, that I had a few years ago. Think it was an 8" acetate? Regards, Ady.
  8. That's all those cold Northerly's going up yer kilt every time you bend over to put another one on the deck mate...

  11. Great thread this. On the white demo, there are no markings in the dead wax at all, & it's this cut.... https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Syl_Johnson...hat_Love_Is.ram I seem to remember the yellow one is the other cut. You've got one, or you had one didn't you Ted? Ted
  12. There is an original 60's 7" acetate of "Down In The Dumps". It's also a different cut & longer. Someone I know was at Popcorns place in the early 90's, & it was given to him with other acetates. On his return to the U.K. he sold it on, It then disappears for a number of years, & re surfaced about 3 or 4 years ago.

  15. Hi Gene, Just had a look at another one that sold on ebay a while back, & this latest one has used the same scan. May be worth just asking him to verify run out markings, pm me if you want to know what they are. Here's the other one... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A%3AIT&rd=1 Better safe than sorry mate. Ady.

  25. Putting a do on in America & having someone come over from the u.k. with all the song rehearsal sheets for the big live act, then he has his hotel room broken into the night before the rehearsal, & you've guessed it, the only thing to be stolen was the brown envelope with the song sheets in. Left his brand new d.j. box behind though. Then, on the grand opening night, the 3 main u.k. d.j's set off from their hotel & forgot the address of the venue. The taxi driver could only speak Mexican & they get taken on a mystery tour, they miss the night. Spose this is small fry to what big promoters have to contend with, but a headache none the less
